What are peoples thoughts on Peter Herbert and the Society of Black Lawyers deciding to turn attentions to Spurs and the Yid Army chants?


For me, I think this particular case is very different, it's historic, and it was said in defiance at abuse from other fans. I know that not everyone who chants it is Jewish, but it's part of the club's unique identity.


Peter Herbert is quite rightly using recent news stories to highlight certain things and make sure that things are dealt with by the law, but I think he's overreaching here to be honest.

He's got a point I have to say, if people were chanting the N word, would we be equally blas??

Spurs have turned the use of Yids as an insult on its head - is that a bad thing ? I see also Ajax adopted the same approach some years ago.


Surely it is down to the fans of the club what they want to call themselves?


I have no idea who Peter Herbert is ( apart from the ref. above) but he seems to be cropping up a great deal at the minute

      The Sky article says the manager has apologised. Apparently, according to the article the person who said they'd apply on Rachel and her husband behalf left and didn't hand the job on.       I'm utterly baffled as to why anybody thinks this is newsworthy, let alone worth a front page. The economy has barely grown for 20 years and the housing crisis has been worsening for a similar time period. Note to any journalists on the forum: maybe focus your headlines on important issues.

      Two wrongs might not make a right. But the two wrongs could at least be of equal value before we get too judgey    paying an estate agent to deal with all of the admin on my to have the estate agent not point out all of the admin  vs Deliberately hacking into an MPs email. And boasting about it (Badenoch)    as for throwing a local estate agent under the bus, when did local estate agents become the good guys?   doesn’t sound like estate agents are being thrown under a bus - they are fessing up.
