Is this thread for football talk or some Fifa 13 prediction competition. I assume the former so why don't you lot start a new thread where you can act like 13 year olds (I time when I used to get the occasional pools win, and before my balls dropped).

So for anyone with serious interest in football, where has the romance and crowds gone from the FA Cup?

Only ten years ago 3rd round used to attract big crowds. I see that only 7500 QPR fans turned up yesterday, marginally better than Mansfield where ever they may be. Grounds that are only 60% empty must add to the lack of atmosphere.

Did the loss of the Cup winners Cup start the decline (a proper knockout tournament, playing amongst some of the best in Europe)?

Does this add to the case for binning that pointless League Cup?

What do we reckon wil be the scores in the replays?

Oh dear have I ruffled some feathers? I had hoped for a quality response.

Anyway back to my original question, it appears that this afternoon has answered it. Get rid of the cheats and hand football back to the fans.

Sadly I can't find the excellent Viz paradody when Fulchester United featuring Billy the Fish play against a team with a cheating Maradona look alike (and I am sure this would to be too un-PC for you sensitive lot)

There is merit in having the weekly predictions in a separate thread. In the past they never quite caught fire but they seem well popular now. If I wasn't so lazy I'd want to take part

It's not as if the standard of dialogue in here is so amazing it shouldn't be interrupted but to these eyes the two things (football chat & spreadsheet talk) would be better served in separate threads

Is this irony?

FA Cup 3rd round scores...

LG - 3 Correct Results + 2 Correct Scores = 9 pts

EP - 5 Correct Results + 1 Correct Score = 8 pts

Mx - 4 Correct Results + 1 Correct Score = 7 pts

OT - 3 Correct Results + 1 Correct Score = 6 pts

AM - 5 Correct Results + 0 Correct Scores = 5 pts

JL - 5 Correct Results + 0 Correct Scores = 5 pts

RD - 5 Correct Results + 0 Correct Scores = 5 pts

SC - 5 Correct Results + 0 Correct Scores = 5 pts

MM - 4 Correct Results + 0 Correct Scores = 4 pts

PD - 4 Correct Results + 0 Correct Scores = 4 pts

?? - 3 Correct Results + 0 Correct Scores = 3 pts

RC - 3 Correct Results + 0 Correct Scores = 3 pts

On current standings MM, PD, ?? and RC would be knocked-out at QF stage...

A real cup competition in that the bottom three in the EDF predictor league are the current top three in the cup prediction stakes -

- obviously (and a prime example of how little respect the poor old FA Cup gets these days) the big names in the EDFPL were resting their best guesses for the resumption of Premiership games.

Poor results may see a change of tactics for the 4th round. B)

    • It worked. Corbyn did similar although not to the same degree. Momentum had a purge too when Corbyn got in. All his political life he opposed the EU but when it came to the crunch he publicly backed them during the referendum. I believe that was to appease the middle classes that he was appealing to. He messed up big time when wooing the middle classes at Glastonbury whilst ignoring his core working class voters up north. They also happened to be leave voters. He got starstruck and forgot about his politics. Corbynmania was thing, a movement but it was also the making of his downfall. For the many and not the few came back and slapped him right in the face.
    • Nothing to do with the tories overspending whatsoever eh! Blame the last 10/11 years of blatant mismanagement, incompetence and willful deceit on the poor bastards that were left with the fall out of a complete car crash tory government.   One PM after another falling on their sword. Open corruption and piss taking throughout covid and a legacy of huge debt and destruction yet in your view it will be labour's 4 years in power that bankrupts us in 2029.  Another one that must think people are blind and stupid.  Rejoice rejoice. It's a pity he and his fellow clowns were completely annihilated at the ballot box. I mean they were doing so well after all 🙃🙃
    • Where did I say he did a good job? Yup and Corbyn was very close to Len McCluskey and funded by Unite wasn't he...they're all as bad as each other... Labour have to purge their party of the far-left - they're a disaster. Allan Johnson summed it up so well on election night in 2019....
    • Thank you for the detailed advise @trinidad It is definitely damage we are concerned about. I don’t think Evri would agree to pay the bill to fix our gate or letter box if they were to be damaged as a result of their delivery drivers helper. Our doorbell can be heard from outside when rung so we don’t quite believe the aggressive simultaneous door/letter box banging is necessary. It can be quite a shock it is done very aggressively.  I’ll definitely action the steps you’ve kindly provided along with a phone call tomorrow. I do sympathise with the role drivers have and how busy they are, which is why we tried communicating directly with her but sadly we haven’t succeeded
