I could always check the predictions to see if that scenario would happen, and then ask for new predictions, otherwise it's toss of a coin time I'm afraid. What about a secret prediction for the minute the first goal is scored in either match which would probably be the first match? In the event of a draw then the nearest to it would qualify for the final.

You're thinking too hard about this Meds :)

Let's say the overall aggregate scores for the two semi's were 4-2 and 5-3 respectively.

Player A predicted aggregate scores of 3-1 and 2-2.

Player B predicted aggregate scores of 4-2 and 2-3.

Player A's aggs were -1, -1, -3 and -1 away from the actual aggs, giving a total of -6

Player B's aggs were 0, 0, -3 and 0, giving a total of -3.

The player closest to the actual aggs wins, in this case Player B.

Seems a fair way as it incorporates all 4 matches.

If both players are still equal then it's coin time...

GB hit a purple patch of form, just at the right time as the votes were being cast, whereas RVP's dipped. The writer's vote later and can look at the season as a whole when voting, so I think they will choose RVP, while GB will get the young player award.

Despite their manager's request to show some class, Gooner fans were anything but yesterday, booing the guard of honour for Utd. Still, we shouldn't be surprised, they boo their own players and manager afterall. I've no issue with them booing RVP when his name was announced and when the game got underway, but to boo the guard of honour, when he hadn't even stepped onto the pitch shows what a classless set of fans they have. I'd be very surprised if your view is shared by many people RD. Great goalscorer as RVP is, Bale has been the stand out player in the premiership this season surely?

And even though he's chewed his way out of contention, I think Sauraz has been better than RVP this season, especially when you consider the team he has around him.

I think he has more goals too, but I could be wrong on that score.

You're missing my point Mick. The PFA vote isn't based on the season as a whole. I've no qualms with Bale winning the award based on the season up until the votes were cast. A worthy winner indeed. I just think the writer's might make a different choice when they cast their votes at the end of the season.

Re. Ots...RVP has more goals than Suarez, not that should decide who's had a better season or not. I think Carrick has been Utd's consistently best player, but goalscorers often take the glory.

The PFA awards often thrown up anomolies. Ryan Giggs won it after only making a dozen or so apearances, probably more out of sympathy for never having won it. In Scotland, not a single Celtic player has been nominated this year, which is laughable. Still, it all provides good 'pub debate' material...

Bale has been brilliant all season and for me it's thoroughly deserved (not that I'm biased at all). But as RD has pointed out the writers' award takes in the whole of the season. I'd still plump for Bale but wouldn't be surprised if Van Pursie won it. There is no doubt he's had a fabulous season. Suarez, although he's had a great season too, he's blotted his copy book (again) of late and that rules him out for me.

Maybe. I was watching Sunday Supplement, Sky's football journo show on Sunday morning, and one of the journos said he wouldn't be voting for Bale because of his perceived diving.
