Well done Wigan, now go down and disappear for all that crap whelan gave the Hammers about Tevez,

I have seen Best, Moore, Charlton, Maradonna and Platini live, which ain't a bad fivesome. I even saw the first three in the same match.

My favourite player ever tho is, for a host of reasons, Alan Devonshire.

No Jah, that's YOUR cup final

Escape to Victory - what a movie. Supposedly Kevin Beattie accepted an arm wresting challenge from Sly Stallone, beat him right and left arm, and Stallone never spoke to him again. There was also a rumour that John Wark's lines were dubbed by a Hungarian extra because his accent was easier to understand.

Not as delighted as every leaden-footed, muscular, centre forward/half/back looking for a club...

ETA: please let the rumours that BFS is looking at Crouch as a Carroll replacement be just rumours.

This.

Couldn't give a toss about Mancini, he'll be fine, and his pockets will be well lined. I just hate the way football is now.

I have an extra copy of this (having received 2 when I ordered it for a Man City fan as a secret santa prsent)

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Richer-Than-God-Manchester-Football/dp/0857384872

which I'm told is a very very good read about how football is these days. I plan to read it after I've finished the 2 books I'm currently on.

I agree with City - I think achieveable targets shoud be included in footballing contracts. Otherwise they massivly underperform, and get paid massive compensation eg Eriksson's contract extension for England - there is little or no accountibility but there should be.

    • Dog kennel isn't a great name for a school. I agree that it's ridiculous for the name to put anyone off going there, but don't see any issue with them rebranding if the parents and children prefer a new name. The school is surrounded by historical 'groves' (reflected in the names of Camberwell Grove, Grove park and Grove Vale for example), so it's not a totally random name.
    • It might help if there are body cams to record evidence and a presence maybe a deterrent but I very much doubt a park warden would intervene with obnoxious and violent thugs - children or not. We need police for that.
    • I had a leaky toilet cistern and Niko came out the same day and not only fixed the leak but thoroughly cleaned off the years of calcium build-up. His attention to detail was matched by his kind humanity. The result was a completely renovated toilet which has never worked more efficiently as well as 'service with a smile'. MANY THANKS NIKO!!!
    • I am trying to find out about people's experiences of the 4+ and 7+ assessments. I am a teacher and have a wealth of experience tutoring for theses assessments (including my own son), but it's always good to keep on top of things as they always make tweaks to them. TIA!
