Jeez, get a bed. No so called world class team has ever had 12 (as the implied requirement here) or even 11 world class players. As for France suddenly having got it right internationally, have you seen their results? Could anyone name half their team (without looking).

And Josh..........please decide to play for Scotland.

Oh, Barcelona are a club side. Most people predicted them to win the CL given they are the best team in Europe.

I'll go to bed when I want to AM ;)

Did I say France have it right internationally? Did I? lol.....I think not.

I have a view, that's all. It's based on my knowledge of the game as a coach and former player and based on Englands results compared to other far better teams. Yes Spain have an advantage when nine of their players play for Barcelona, but that only goes to illustrate the need to bring more English players into first team football at the top clubs. Until we do that, and change some aspects of our coaching system, I think we'll never win another major tournamnent. I might be wrong and hope one day that I am, but I've been saying it for 15 years and haven't seen anything to make me think otherwise just yet.

Hmm I can't srgue with that lol.......maybe England have just always been crap really, apart form 1966 when they were lucky maybe........which means Graham Taylor really is the worst manager ever! :))

To be fair England only failed to qualify in 1978 on goal difference from Italy (who came 4th in the finals) as only group winners qualified. Same record as Italy Won 5 Lost 1. Not crap really.

Actually now that you say, 1970 was in the seventies. My favourite World Cup. England were probably better than 1966 but blew it against W.Germany from being 2-0 up. It was a very good England team, only beaten 1-0 by Brazil in a group match which I remember as being on my birthday. That was before I found out my birth certificate said differently.

Fair point Maxxi. My recollection was somewhat different but you are right. Looking at the results, England and Italy traded 2-0 wins. I remember Kevin Keegan scoring a glancing header to win at Wembley.

I watched it on tv as a 10 year old, sitting perched on the edge of the fireplace, because my parents had visitors round, I had to keep the sound down.

When I jumped up to celebrate I got told off for supporting England.... by both my parents and the visitors. But my hero worship of Kevin Keegan knew no bounds...

15.10.77 Torino Italy 6-1 Finland

16.11.77 London England 2-0 Italy

03.12.77 Roma Italy 3-0 Luxembourg

The killer result was Italy beating Finland 6-1....which England could not match.

Maybe it's catching?

Do single men eye 35 year old women with suspicion (i.e. "do you want a husband and children within 3 years...")?

Or are there lots of single men out there after 35 year old women hoping to start families..?

I'm not clear what the situation is - I have a 35 year old, very eligible, tall attractive sister in law with a generous, funny personality, and struggle to understand why she isn't beating men off with a stick, but then I wonder if the 'biological clock' argument in mens heads puts them off. Any opinions???

It also concerns me that there is an assumption for an attractive (older or young) lady that simply because they have the looks, brains, possibly the "whole package" that they simply must have someone and if they dont then what's their problem - they must have "issues"... I always question those stupid comments such as "wow you're gorgeous how comes you're single?" "why shouldn't I be?" makes me grrrrr!

    • Anyone can deliver for Evri - my daughter having just passed her driving test tried Evri to make some money - they basically give you a route and as many parcels as they think you can cope with - you make money for each one you deliver, so you can imagine - speed is the priority. Why would they wait for you to answer the door when they can just throw it and take a photo? If you have a choice, choose a different courier service or shop elsewhere where they do.
