Yes my two lovely daughters have both had chicken pox recently.

No neither of them are infectious anymore.

Yes the youngest in particular is very gruesome looking with her incredibly scabby appearance following her severe bout of the pox which is only recently come to its conclusion.

BUT i am going to be venturing to local play areas with them this week following a 3 week forced house imprisonment with them both.

Please do not think i am stupid or uncaring enough to take them out if there is any, any, any! possibility of them infecting other children or adults or pregnant women.

THEY ARE NOT INFECTIOUS

so to the mums/carers/dads etc that saw my eldest daughter recently when we ventured out between their bouts of said virus and criticized me for carelessly taking an infectious child to a public area and pulled their off spring away from her as if we were ringing a bell and declaring 'the plague, the plague' .....

SHE WAS NOT INFECTIOUS - chicken pox is not infectious once the blisters have scabbed and dried

THE YOUNGEST IS NOT NOW INFECTIOUS -

I AM NOT STUPID ENOUGH TO TAKE AN INFECTIOUS CHILD TO A CHILDRENS PLAY AREA !!!

They just look scabby!!!!! bless them....

thank you.

Poor you Louloulabelle. I remember how my daughter looked when she had the chickenpox. Having had 30 spots on her forehead alone I remember looking at her one night and thinking she looked like she had some sort of medevil plague. I can understand why some misinformed people do get anxious about the look of it but my daughter did find people staring at her very upsetting.I found a bit of bio oil a baseball cap and long sleeves seemed to do the trick. Although the scabs are sometimes nasty it did seem to fade really quickly once the blisters had burst.

    • I would leave London, or at a push move back to north London. In SE London if you want to get away in a car you are trapped, always an hour to go the first 10 miles, chugging up to the M4 or round the south circular, which is really just a line someone drew connecting a load of roads. and I know there are trains but first you have to get to those mainline stations, unless you only want to leave London to go to Kent. which I don't.
    • It was you who  made it personal in the first place,  Jazzer. You said you didn't feel safe in the streets,  and you said you didn't go to Central London because you didn't feel safe there. So are you now saying that wasn't "personal"? "Fire from the hip." Another interesting choice of words 🙄 I'm not "demanding" anything! I asked you some perfectly reasonable questions in  response to your own statements. None of which you have answered. Never mind. It seems to be pointless having a discussion with you. It's long past my bedtime. I'm going to turn on my sleep app  and go to sleep 😴💤
    • Hi Forumites, This afternoon someone in a dark blue/black saloon car collided with my parked car on Thompson Road, SE22 9JR. I have a neighbour’s doorbell cam footage of the collision at 14:30 19/09/2025 but am unable to identify the registration plate. If anyone has footage of a car travelling down Thompson Road towards Crystal Palace Road at that time please PM me. Of course if the Perp would like to confess they can also PM me. Thankyou.
