Keef
Funnily enough I read a thing about that cover the other day. I it was saying how everyone has always assumed it was Mick Jagger, but that it was actually just some bloke who was doing something around the studio that day. Ultraconsultancy
I'd say anything by 23 envelope for 4ad records between 82 and 88; a classic colaboration that just [but only just ] pips saville at factory. Sean's citation of surfer rosa above an excellent example. SeanMacGabhann
of many things UC. *Ahem*Good shout as well on the 80s design gurus. the first one I became aware of as a wee lad was Malcolm Garret of Assorted iMaGes - he did things likeRio Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1910-fave-album-cover/page/3/#findComment-54897 Share on other sites
Incitatus
Malcolm Garret of Assorted iMaGes - he did things like RioSure Garret was the graphic designer but I think the late Patrick Nagel has to take the credit for the Rio cover. mockney piers
I like this one, curiously disturbing for what's actually a pretty fantastic slice of power pop.Click image through for youtube of "your ex lover is dead". mockney piers
I have a copy BM; I'll plop it on a USB key for a forum drinks or something. I don't lend CDs for that very reason, I lost dozens when a previous company made a lot of redundancies and people left with my CDs :(I saw them live at The Venue in New Cross more years ago than I care to think about. They were absolutely superb, even if the style has dated somewhat, I don't think I've seen a band play almost 2 hours seamlessly and remain so tight throughout!!!
