Simon Emmerson aka Simon Booth, Afro Celt /Afro Celt Sound System, the Imagined Village, Working Week and Weekend (the only group I didn't see).

Had a chance encounter with him on a long cross channel ferry sailing, and subsequently said hello at festivals. Only 67 so much more to give

Some nice words from Peter Gabriel

Sad to report the untimely passing of Bobby Caldwell, "Robert Hunter Caldwell was an American singer, songwriter, and musician. He released several albums spanning R&B, soul, jazz, and adult contemporary. He is known for his soulful and versatile vocals."

Fond memories, including a Spitting Image sketch (slightly risque) when Labour got into power in 97.  As a minister she got her private office to cover over the smoke alarm, maybe the last minister to smoke in the office (I'm seeing this from the funny side).

Gordon McQueen, ex Leeds and Man U from a time when the Scotland national team were good.  As much remembered for his bouffant

    • As I understand it, Poundland itself  has been saved (and is reassessing what it sells and its pricing strategy) but nevertheless is getting rid of a quite a few stores, including the ED one. There was a thread on here about it before it opened, and Lordship Lane always seemed to be a very odd choice of location for what used to be called a "pound shop".
    • But without knowing why they were removed, I don't see how we can comment. Does anybody know the reason?  I thought Malumbu's post was useful information, given the subject matter of this thread  I didn't think it was patronising.
    • Milo came home briefly last night but was unsettled and incredibly wary of us. We know he's be staying at other people's homes on and off over the summer, and this is very unsettling to him. If he's coming to yours for food or inviting himself in for the night, please turn him away or put him back out. He has a home, he is loved, and he is well looked after when he is here. He probably goes elsewhere as he not a huge fan of his medications or diet, but he has those for a reason. If he's not here, we can't make sure he stays well or be sure he's safe.
    • I would 100% recommend Silvano for anyone looking to learn to drive for the first time or refresh their skills. I took lessons with him after not driving for over a decade and Silvano got me back to driving confidently much more quickly than I thought possible. He’s super friendly and a great & patient teacher. Couldn’t recommend him more!
