1) Beware any post containing the phrase 'you lot'

2) Brendan's Law will always apply

3) The worst conceivable insult is to be called a Daily Mail reader (though copies of the Daily Mail are sold in every ED newsagent)

4) Mummies (who must always be called "yummy") and customers of William Rose should expect ridicule, which may or may not be grounded in reason

22. Arguing the same point with an obvious nutter is playing their game. *no it isn't.. yes it is.. no it isn't..I knew you'd say that.. you child.. idiot..*

23. Any insult should be scrutinised for irony/post modern intent before umbrage is taken. If umbrage is taken please keep the receipt.

    • That explanation sounds highly unlikely!  Surely the "days of the week" plates must be a standard size. I know Royal Mail often appears incompetent, but it  couldn't be that stupid, surely. Was it 1 April?!
    • Looking for a short length of electric (twin & earth)  lighting cable. Most likely there could be some in a skip near you??
    • Southwark's recycling guidance says to put shredded paper in the blue bin in a paper envelope or "small box". I've got far too much of it for that  (confidential stuff going back decades) - thanks to the EDF member who kindly gave me a shredder! It would be a "massive box". I have barely started  the shredding, and I've already got an extremely large bagful.   I've read online that you can put it into  large clear plastic bags in the bin for paper,  provided you  clearly label it "shredded paper" and it is obvious what it is. Does anybody know if Southwark would accept it like that? Alternatively, can anyone make use of it for animal bedding or packaging material or adding to  compost?
    • I'm happy to report that some foxgloves are now looking great in my garden. The bees are loving them. Also managed to grow some corn poppies from seed. I've left some decaying logs in the corner so maybe there are some stag beetles there.
