Are you really arguing that an insult that only applies to a subset of a race is no longer consider a racist insult?

That's quite a claim. Are you a defence lawyer for the EDL? "No, no, your Honour - my client was only referring to those actually wearing a burqa..."

No argument or defence from Loz against the fact that everyone disagrees with him, I note, just insults. It's richly ironic that someone who acts round these parts like a more erudite version of the Daily Mail, excoriating "Guardianistas" and "political correctness" in general, immediately starts whining and insulting people the minute his own demographic is on the receiving end.

It seems this campaign has brought into question the

Length of time this enqiry has went on without much

Answers, especially for the women involved in these operations. Above link is a view from one of the pollicemans wife who was married at the time her husband was involved with someone else whilst undercover. She is supportive of Lushs campaign.

when I looked it doesn't look like it will finish until around 2023

Inquiry webpage

Thanks for link johnl, when legal proceedings take years like this, there should be transparency, where the public especially people who were personally involved can follow what the findings are. I was unaware of this enquiry until lushs campaign. Have read a little of link, clicked on a link within it where some papers of findings had restricting circulations when published.

Spectacular lack of self-awareness there, Loz. Well done.

(Is it sexist then?) There are plenty of rage-filled ranty men and women out there of all races- David Lammy is a good example

As far as the undercover cops are concerned- anyone who is undermining decent society by breaking the law and putting young people in danger DESERVE to be infiltrated if that's what gets the job done....and, of course, WE demand that the job gets done!

Lush have noted your comment and have now resumed their campaign

You sound more and more like Oswald Mosley with every post.

ETA - if you had half an ounce of awareness, you?d know that NOBODY has objected to the principle of undercover work. That?s a straw man set up by you alone.

What they had trouble with was the lies told by police officers in the course of that work and the extent to which the Met tried to cover it up afterwards. This isn?t about covert operations per se, it?s about the trustworthy ness of the police.

You once said you only read Private Eye. If so then you should be more au fait with the highly questionable police antics in these cases.

The far right are becoming more and more emboldened every passing day, they're not even bothering to try and dress up their nastiness any more. Storm's a-comin'.

What a coincidence that of all the "rage-filled ranty men and women out there of all races" uncle should choose to name one of Britain's most famous black men.

    • Unless they were wearing school uniform with name tags otherwise children do change their clothes you know.
    • I'd also recommend Silvano for anyone in the area looking to learn automatic, having just passed first time with 5 minors. He's a very patient teacher and ensured I learned how to drive safely above all.
    • You don't need to do the research. I had to know the numbers as a TV buyer. I analysed the potential advertising revenue and Channel Four didn't cover their costs. They had some nice 'Channel Four' signs when someone hit the ropes but, In all honesty, a lot a potential revenue was lost because most old knackers were pissed off because they couldn't perve at Carol Vorderman on 'Countdown'.       Sorry, cross-post. I was replying to Malumbu. Give me a minute, if you will. I listened to the first two sessions (today) on TMS and popped down to the pub for the evening one.   I do miss the days of Peter West, Richie Benaud and Tom Graveney on BBC2.   But, the BBC are at least putting on 'Today At The Test' on at around 7pm instead of after midnight.   And it was on the 10pm news.
    • "PGC, do you reckon this 'Anderson -Tendulkar' series could make Tests a bit more interesting to the wider word?" Alas no. Until it comes back to terrestial telly, I think it will always suffer from elitism(?).  Excepting The Guardian, cricket is barely mentioned in other press. I am fortunate in that my daughter has just added me to her subscription on NOW TV. It has been great to watch this test; it really could have gone either way, eariler in the day, which always makes it more exciting. The only bugbear is that I am a TMS afficianado, and they are about eight deliveries ahead of the tv! I thought Tongue was excellent in mopping up the tailenders, and Duckett was a delight to watch. Bumrah and Jadeja were brilliant to see. I'm sure the Edgbaston crowd will have tremendous supporters for both sides. PS: I don't think Jofra will be back on the strength of one county wicket.
