Recommendations for kitchen extension & landscaped garden

:)Hi,

We are considering doing our side return, extending the kitchen into the garden with folding glass doors out onto the garden and the garden to be landscaped i.e decking. We'd also like to squeeze in a downstairs toilet, possible shower room. Its a big job and we're keen to get a few quotes from reliable, competitively priced local tradesman/building companies and also local landscape gardeners. I know lots of houses in dulwich will have had this done and we are really hoping to get some recommendations. Many thanks if you can help :)

I can highly recommend Simon Whitehead Architects, who offer a professional and friendly service, and have an excellent reputation in the local area.

Their contact details are: 020 7183 1063 or e-mail: [email protected].

Best to speak to Simon direct who can assist and advise.

Our neighbours used Tony Howard (07932 553704) for their kitchen extension, based on recommendations from my brother (who also had his kitchen extended) and us (Tony's practically rebuilt our house over the past 10 years).

Tony's been back this week converting our neighbour's loft. Next week he's sorting out our shower room (the only job which we risked with another builder since he wasn't available and which, after 5 years, needs to be gutted and re-done).

For the landscaping element I would strongly recommend Mhairi of Grozone based in Penge.

They can produce really lovely garden designs and can do the landscaping or just the landscaping.

Hi there

We have just had a rear extension done by Tom Williams from the London Renovation Company. Lives locally and been a really great and careful/ considerate builder.

Worth a quote i would say. Have a look at his website http://www.thelondonrenovationcompany.co.uk/

Cheers

Hi Katiesa,

Finding the perfect builder makes a big difference to a project ? and isn?t as hard as you might think. Look around for someone who is dedicated, inventive, highly skilled and adheres to the estimate. It might seem like wishful thinking but they do exist.

Here you can watch fantastic team of builders and architect in action !

All the best

I would totally recommend Craig Osbourne who has just completed our kitchen extension / side return. He runs a small family business based in Kent and is therefore very reasonably priced. He works with a small team and has done an amazing job with a lovely finish and a great attitude which is important when they are in your house every day. His number is 07889 134829.
I would recommend CGR contracts, they are just finishing a job in birkbeck place, they are small family run company very reliable with pride in their work they left the site clean and safe every night before they left. Email is [email protected]

We used Simon Whitehead to see us through planning approval for our kitchen extension back in 2012. We are now selling our house and the buyer has some general questions re. planning approval and the design. When I contacted Simon for comment he has completely ignored our requests for help or feedback and it is for this reason that we wouldn?t recommend using him for the job. Even given the lapse of time since the end of job, I think there are other firms out there that would be more willing to respond or offer guidance to a former client in a similar situation.

    • In just two days, we’ll take to the streets to show Donald Trump that he and his politics are not welcome here. On Saturday the global far-right mobilised their biggest protest for decades. We want to show that supporters of Trump and fascism are not the majority – far from it. Here are all the details you need for the day. The march assembles at Portland Place, near the BBC, at 2pm (see assembly blocs below). After speeches here, the march will move off at 3pm. It will then march down Regent St, through Piccadilly Circus, on Whitehall (past Downing St) to our rally at Parliament Square. The rally at Parliament Square will begin around 5pm and finish at 7pm. If you can’t make it to the march, feel free to join the rally after work! (Nearest tube: Westminster). The short, accessible version of the route assembles at the top of Whitehall (SW1A 2DY) at 4.30pm to march to Parliament Square for 5pm. You may also prefer to just join the rally directly at Parliament Square.  Join a bloc – and make friends! Our movement is diverse, and various elements are forming ‘blocs’ on the march to emphasise their visual presence collectively. You can join these blocs or form up behind them:   A) Palestine, near BBC, W1A 1AA B) Climate, W1B 1NS C) Amnesty, around junction with New Cavendish St, W1B 1LU D) Migrants' rights, W1B 1LS E) Jewish bloc, W1B 1QQ F) Ukraine, around junction with Weymouth St, W1B 1JL G) Europe, W1B 1NR More stewards still needed Stewards are a crucial part of keeping the protest safe for everyone to participate. They are a visible point of contact for attendees who may need directions or other assistance. Experience of stewarding is useful but it's also fine if you haven't done it before. You will be issued with a hi-vis jacket and briefed in advance and on the day.  Sign up to be a steward Staying comfortable on the day The demonstration lasts for several hours, so we suggest you should:     Bring a bottle of water and snacks (and eat beforehand)     Charge your phone fully the night before, and bring a portable charger if you can     Go to the loo beforehand (really!)     Buddy up with someone, or stick together as a group – it can be hard to find people easily if people wander off     Coming alone? Protests can be a great place to meet like-minded people. If you feel unsure, you can always talk to a steward     Consider the weather: bring a waterproof jacket or wear suncream where necessary     Wear comfortable clothes and footwear, and use our accessible route if you need to (see above) Bring your friends and family on Wednesday. Let’s make this massive! In solidarity, Stop Trump Coalition
