Temporary traffic lights at ED station

There is a temporary 3-way traffic light at ED station that is causing congestion to/from DKH. Traffic backed up to GG one way and top of DKH the other.

Give yourself more time or avoid it

I think they were digging up the Pavement.

You Know. The one they laid a couple of years back to install some sort of lighting.???

Can't quite remember what it was they did..

They're not digging up the pavement (this time) they're digging up the road (hence the need for the 3 way traffic controls). Anyway - as per above, its causing massive tailbacks so if you can avoid it, do!

Yup, this added 20 minutes (!) to our bus journey this morning so if you have a hospital appointment, leave early.

Also, both bus stops on the southbound side of Camberwell Green are out of service, so if you plan on changing there, you'll have to walk up to the next bus stop, not ideal if you have lots to carry in this heat!

A site manager told me that they need to dig up the road to locate the main water sewer. Apparently the technical road diagrams are a bit vague.

Once they locate the sewers, then Thames Water needs to come and assess.

Then, in a couple of weeks, the road will be closed again to narrow the pavement in order to create a loading bay.

The site managers are very helpful and friendly if you're nice to them. I'm a technical geek, so I love asking questions.

Narrowing the pavement right by the station entrance doesn?t sound great

The loading bay is technically in front of the Marks and Spencer's, there's a bit more space outside the actual stations entrances.

But the problem along there are the multitude of bins and newspaper stands. And now that the ugly pigeon-pooed cycle storage (which mostly aren't being used) are finally moved, the commercial wheelie bins are inching their way back.

I guess we'll need to start lobbying the council again to sort that area out, it's a real mess.

Just to add that I don't think the loading bay is great, either, but once planning permission was granted to shrink the Library and squeeze in a retail outlet, one thing led to another.

Those flats are a major example of overly dense overdevelopment in the area, which we need to keep our eye on.

One of the builders was in charge of the pedestrian crossing this afternoon. Had to manually control the lights, so people could cross the road.

Would be great if drivers could consider turning engines off when waiting
