Peckham Rye station bike lockup - is it secure?

I'm considering locking my bike up in the racks at Peckham Rye rail station whilst at work during the day. Anyone got any experience of whether it's fairly secure? Thanks.

Of course not, it's in the middle of Peckham. Your bike will get nicked or damaged. Leave it to go to the shops but don't leave it all day.

I left my bike there pretty much everyday during the summer as I took the train to work. I've even left it there a few times overnight and i still have it ! I would say its totally fine as long as you have a decent lock and a non-flashy bike. I use this one.

Whenever I left it out on Blenheim Grove the gears would be messed about a bit, presumably by the kids who hang out around the hair shops there so I wouldn't recommend leaving it there all day.

There are cctv cameras on either side and there's usually a staff member in the station foyer so perhaps that deters the bike thieves.

A few years ago my friend used to park her bike there and a protection scheme operated. So a fee was paid each day to some thug or other and her bike was ok
