Ah, Brazil. I've always liked that film a lot. I suggested we all watched it, when it was on TV a couple of Christmases ago. Within 10 minutes literally everyone had left the room. Same happened with Life Aquatic wSZ a couple of years before that...

Edited as above :)

Seems you have that in common with most of my extended family.

Actually... in most Wes Anderson films, not much stuff actually "happens" really. Quirky character based films, often without a traditional story arc. So I can kind of understand the "what-the-hell-is-this-crap" reaction.

You've done that one before!

But yeah, it's a line that I would have found very useful on a few occasions in my twenties.

Not.

I was on a train sharing a table with a couple of squaddies last week. They discussed various technical inaccuracies within that film - and then moved onto reminiscing about a drinking game they'd played which involving vomiting into a bucket and drinking it.

You meet such interesting people on public transport.

Brazil.. that perennial Christmas family favourite. One of mine though.

Saw it in January. Fantasy ending and a daughter wishing her father could fly despite the tell tale background noises. Really good film about people.

Saw Legend tonight.

Recognised the Ivy House. Didn't realise it was shot there. Now see I had an email from ivyhouse saying they are doing a screening on 23 Sept.

    • There seems to be a change in the reception staff - did not recognise a couple of them when I last visited.  Not sure whether one of the long term staff has retired as not seen her for a while.  Used on line facility as my podiatrist recommended antibiotics for a toe infection and also took photo of my toe which I attached yo my request. Got a message back within a day to say medication ordered from chemist.

    • Oh give it a break.  We have an MP who makes racist comments, yet our media (and what seems like this Forum) that generally hate Labour (and loved Johnson) are just out looking for the dirt. It's a move on, nothing to see here.  Particularly if she used a letting agency.
