You seem to recognise that these gangs are mostly kids and so I assume you know that the 'elders' will have been involved for a (relatively) long time, are from the same area and therefore well known by all members.

So, between the kids and the elders, where do you see undercover cops fitting in without arousing suspicion?

Battle Royal is another good example of how to eradicate a gang plague. I'm sure most of the little peckers would be up for it given half the chance. Australia is a good option for a venue but closer to home would waste less of our scarce public funds. How about the Isle of Sheppey?

That's terrible. It was terrible already, but that's even worse.

This young man's father is an ex-volunteer at a place near Elephant & Castle where I volunteer and the two people I work with there know him well. He came in yesterday to see them and they hadn't previously registered that it was his son, who they'd also known when he was younger, who'd been killed. His father is understandably devastated and bereft. I had been out and arrived back just after he'd left to find my volunteer colleagues distraught and in tears.

It's incredibly sad and a tragic and senseless waste of a young life.
