StraferJack
The Telegraph really is keen to sneer at many of it's readers isn't itIn this story about a specific marriage...it not only manages to put "marriage" in quotes (because, y'know, they are LESBIANS!!), it then says "woman cameraman"what gives? KidKruger
I can only think they put 'marriage' in quotes because it's later qualified as a 'civil partnership' (note MY quotes). If they'd used the CP term from the start there'd have been no need to qualify it later.Personally I use marriage for both, I don't really see a distinction but that's cos I look at it from a relationship/commitment perspective, whereas there is probably a legal difference. david_carnell
They must have edited it because it now describes her as a "television cameraman".I suspect "woman cameraman" was used as it looks weird on the page. But there is no such word as camerawoman. And as KK says "marriage" is used because it isn't an actual marriage but a civil partnership. Although why use not just say that at the start? Probably because they hate the BBC! Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/20554-listen-dearie/#findComment-500299 Share on other sites

Alex K
Don't be too hard on the TELEGRAPH. Its compositors cheerfully ended that segment of text with an extraordinarily apposite headline for the next segment --"CAMPING FOREVER".Huzzah for the happy couple! Long may they camp!
