carrier bags - what do you do with yours?

Sometimes I find myself with carrier bags and don't know what to do with them. I know ideally we should not take carrier bags, but instead use reusable bags. If you do have carrier bags, what do you do with them?

I took some to a charity store in peckham, the staff refuse to take them

I donate mine to Southwark Day Centre for Asylum Seekers (www.sdcas.org.uk) - they use them for packing food parcels for clients.

The Baptist Church on corner of Lordship Lane and Goodrich Rd used to take them - they host ( or used to ) a drop in session for ayslum seekers/refugees on Tuesdays and needed them for distributing clothes etc .

Use them as bin bags or to store stuff in my chest freezer.

Reuse them as bags. Though I usually use more permanent bags.

ETA: I'm pretty sure you can't put them in the normal recycling. Some supermarkets used to collect them to recycle - I think Sainsbury's did - but I don't know if they still do.

I try to avoid them and have a few shopping bags we all use and keep using.

Re-use them, use as bin liners, or recycle through Ocado when I get my supermarket delivery

There?s a bin inside the exit at the other end of the store

So they are ok to use for rubbish and then in green bins but not in blue bins - is that right?

Give them to "car boot" sellers, they are always short of bags.

You can put loaf of bread bags in with the plastic bag recycling too!
