I do find walking and talking a bit difficult with my 4yo though, due to the height difference. But the principle makes complete sense.

Interesting they say that time-outs don't work for under 5s. And weird seeming as everyone uses them. They have never worked in our house and we dropped them along time ago...so it's nice to hear that I am not completely on the wrong track!

I like the bit about active boys - I always think I need to get my son out at least once, preferably twice a day - like having a dog!

A friend of mine had four boys who were all a couple of years ahead of mine. Her advice to me when I had son number 3 was "think of them in the same vein as dogs. They need to be fed regularly and exercised regularly & then they'll do just fine."

I think she was right.

I think she's onto something. A friend with three boys recently told me: "everything I know about parenting I learned from the Dog Whisperer", which I thought was pretty funny.

I use Touch and Talk' on my small boys - 5 and 2; and big boy - 39, without telling him lol!

Works EVERY time. Bless 'em.
