Don't worry Brendan. England have, for years, sporadically imitated competence, even excellence, at one day cricket, only to lose momentum. Even this summer's 3-1 defeat to NZ was commenced with a commanding 100+ run win, switch-hitting sixes and all.

Like my Scottish granny used to say about good weather - it's nice out the now, but we'll pay for it later.

Well that was quick. Not often you can say that Andre Nel top scored with 13.

Right, now all the boys have to do is come out and bowl England out for less than 83 and they?ll be drinking snakebite in the nearest Walkabout before you can say, ?drunk aussie girls.?

I really don?t know what to think about this. Should I be impressed with England? Should I be astounded at South Africa?s terrible performance in the form of the game that they normally excel at? Should I put South Africa?s poor performance down to the quota system forcing white players out of the team? Should I just put it all down to Kevin Pietersen?s charmed captaincy? Is it beginner?s luck or is the guy actually this good?

I don?t care what is going on in the South African camp you don?t win a test series as impressively as they did and then come out and lose this badly and repetitively.

At the end of the day, they won the series that really mattered. Remember England were destroyed in Australia in the last ashes, and then went on to win the one dayers. The hard wrk had all ready been done by the Ausies.

That said, it is nice to see England looking good, and I hope they can take it in to their test form!

    • Thanks Sue.  No the car just drove on.  We don't know if they noticed.  We were driving behind.  We were just glad we could be with the cat, and take him to the vet, rather than leaving him there 😞
    • Certainly the infamous (and mythical) SE London cat killer turned out to be foxes attacking dying and dead cats injured by cars, but fox: cat encounters do appear to happen, even where cats are victorious. Fox: adult humans less so. At least where foxes are the aggressors.
    • That was very kind of you to take the cat to the vet. Did the car not stop?
