Where's Ahmed gone? GK barbers

I've been getting my hair cut at GK barbers for the last 5 years or so after ruling out others in the area for various reasons. The owner Ahmed is always friendly, does a decent job and doesn't overcharge.

The last couple of times I've been however, he has not been there. The cut I've had hasn't been to the same standard and the guy cut my neck with a razor blade today without even acknowledging it. The price has also gone up a couple of quid so I wondered if Ahmed is still running the place. Anyone know?

Ahmed is still around. He was on holiday for a few weeks, think he got back about 2 weeks ago. My husband and son go there for haircuts but we've started to avoid the other guy and wait for Ahmed when they're both working for similar reasons. We're not the only ones either.

Thanks for the helpful reply Urbanfox. Good to know.

Why do you always have to be so confrontational and rude to posters on the site?

the above sums it up.

I did read the original post, and your comment to the Op was quite frankly rude and uncalled for.

you seem to do this a lot and I wonder if you do it to deliberately wind people up.

I had a shave at Jazz barbers a few weeks ago, the guy was a bolshy amateur. I only knew that after he'd abattoired my face then tried to excuse it by saying I had the 'wrong face for shaving'. This guy didn't have the spine to admit he was repeatedly cocking-up, at the expense of my neck tissue and a few leaks. I can understand a place that doesn't do many shaves making the odd mistake but don't do a texas chainsaw massacre screenset on a guy then make out it's his fault !

Yet the guy I usually use for my occasional wet shave in Lewisham at the Tamil barbers on Loampit Hill, has never cut me once in several years ! For a third of the price.

Cella, is this a cry for help? You seem desperate to get a reaction from someone. If you need any support or someone to talk to, please just ask. There are lots of kind and open-hearted people in East Dulwich who I'm sure would be happy to offer a non-judgemental, friendly ear.
Not at all. Just can't abide lazy posts. Not you - re read the ops original post(s)and see what they are actually asking help with. Also, they ruled out other barbers "for various reasons" so, given all the complaints they have with the other/partner barber, why they couldn't ask the same basic question whilst on the premises. Or just trolling.

Oh dear me cella, let's ease back a little shall we?

The poster just wondered if anyone knows where Ahmed is. This is an internet forum...... the purpose of which is to discuss local stuff, ask questions, discuss businesses etc.

Maybe the poster didn't feel like asking directly. They might not want to go back in there again. Luckily they don't have to- they can ask on the local forum.

Not everybody is as comfortable with confrontation as you

Now go get yourself a camomile tea

No to all the above, in particular your royal we. There was a list of complaints about the other barber - possibly you didn't read in your rush to patronise - so bad publicity in any event for the shop and possible trolling by the op. I see you are pretty experienced yourself in what you call confrontation.

I second the above poster.

Cella....someone asked for help/advice via a neighbourhood forum..you instantly belittled and criticised the poster.

you seem to enjoy antagonising people, I guess you must be bored.

I think this is very unlikely (though weird that it apparently heard both waders within a minute), but I thought I'd have a good look anyway. Watching the lake I see a grey and white bird coming in across the water - too big for the Plover, but got my camera on it as it landed and started pecking round the margin.  Zoomed in, got a few shots and worked out it was a Common Sandpiper!  Not sure how it got so far from it's natural habitat, but there you go. I wonder about the Curlew and Plover, but still assume they must have been Merlin getting confused.  Keep an eye out though.
