Oh my, I'm so very sorry for your loss Ruth.

I can only echo the sentiments expressed here.

Simon was a firm favourite of mine and his thoughtful, insightful contributions will most certainly be missed, but above all it was his warm, wry sense of humour that shone through.

My sincerest condolences

Piers

Thank you all so much for your condolences and the lovely tributes. Although Simon's life was limited physically it seems he has touched and inspired many people both face-to-face and on the internet.

John K - I'd love to know more about Simon and Victor!

Laddy muck, you have a pm

The cremation will be in Doncaster on 17th January. We've asked for family flowers only. If anyone would like to make a donation in Simon's memory, the charities he supported are

  • 1 year later...

Before I took my first great leap into this abyss and posted, I took great pleasure in his much missed wit. I believe that his last post ended with

"There's very little storage and no off-road car parkng".

    • Lucaksz did an absolutely brilliant job on hanging new sliding doors, installing wardrobes, hanging cupboards and generally finishing up some carpentry. Great worker, arrives on time, excellent attention to detail and clean worker.
    • I've just checked my NHS record online.  Gruelling process, but eventually found last week's immunisation records under Acute (short-term) medicines, after having looked at my Immunisations section and been told that the information was not there but was available from my GP's record.  Anyway, my Covid vaccination at Day Lewis TJHC pharmacy last week was a Pfizer one. Krystal give me a little card with the vaccination details on it, and don't require any preliminary form-filling either.  DL provided no record.
    • I read that years ago, but I can't remember anything about it (but then I forget books as soon as I've finished them).
    • Poor cat. Also poor people. I imagine it was incredibly frightening for everyone involved, quite apart from any damage to their homes. And so soon after the massive  fire in Penge. I hope the cat is found and everyone affected in any way by the fire will get all the help they need.
