I have to say I'm surprised that anyone would actually need to use the safety harness, once the tray is in place (and once in place we never took it off, unless we were actually taking the high chair apart) it's damn near impossible for them to fall out, even when Little Oi was 6 months old we never used it. Also, 8 complaints from the gazillions they must sell of this hardly seems a major issue. We've just put ours away after 18 months use and it's been perfect.

Conversely, all mine quickly manage to find ways of escaping, houdini like

Yeah easy to get out. Now the tripp trapp on the other hand is working ok so far....!

Yep, harness or no harness is no obstacle here. Hmm, might have to upgrade sooner than planned to tripp trapp...

As an aside - I saw this high chair the other day in a shop and it looks great - it is expensive (like tripp trapp) but I tried 10m old in it and it was just so upright and neat. Certainly would be v tricky to escape from (in fact thing it doesn't even have a harness). It wasn't huge though - not sure would fit a hulking toddler in and doesn't do the convert to junior seat thing. It's kind of a really sleek/neat/compact/folding version of the ikea one with a foot rest as added bonus!

Have the Baby Bjorn one as well and can vouch for its excellence...no way little man could wriggle out of it, although he tries bless him...

hm E has been able to escape from tt since she was about 1 even with baby set and cushions! She is very little though and we didn't get the harness.

Mine can't escape, although he tries to. I'd love a tripp trapp or two though, i know SOMEONE with a purple one and it's the most amazing piece of baby kit I've ever seen!

BST; babydan ones just as good, so I've heard!

Have used friends TTs and have a BabyDan ourselves; the wood of the TTs is nicer, and I think its easier to adjust them as you need to take the BD apart, but otherwise pretty much of a muchness.
