Cafes with baby areas?? Do they exist?

OK so unfortunately my baby is now far too big to be held in my arms whilst sipping a Latte - he is 16 months old.


Can anyone please help in directing me to any cafes that have areas where they can let off some steam and keep out of the way of other paying customers.


I know The Florence and Victoria have play rooms which are great but i was just wondering if there are any others in London not just East D/Peckham.


Really appreciate any feedback, thanks.

There is (or was) one on Northcote Rd in Clapham with a Play area at the back - also sold single nappies & baby food just trying to remember the name of it.


CRUMPET is the name!!! I'm told the cafe next door is even nicer but less child friendly I think!

I like the Bread of Life too but it is not exactly a cafe in the way you might be thinking, but it does good basic food like omlettes, jackets etc and lots for kids and is really relaxed. There is a little play area and it is never busy. Kind of like a park cafe but in a better, more relaxed setting. I've never had the coffee but expect that it is more caff than cafe.


I think the Vic Inn is good but is a bit more for older kids as the playroom is quite far away from the bar / restaurant so one of the parents needs to hang out there with them. In the summer the Herne has a good playground area right in the centre of the garden.


Bit random but the Cafe Nero in Morleys in Brixton is good for having a coffee and watching the buses for little ones. Not sure it's really a destination though.


Also Gardens cafe has the back room which is good. Now that my girl is 2 I find that our times are pretty limited anywhere that involves sitting down.

The Gardens has turned the back room into a deli counter. Was in there last week and it's no longer child friendly IMO.

You could try the teahouse theatre in vauxhall (next to the city farm), 40 mins away on a 185!

Went today and staff were v friendly. Big space, loads of tables, good area with rug on floor, and armchairs. Games in a chest. Very baby/toddler friendly: they even have a bumbo. High chairs, helpful staff came to open double doors, they didn't bat an eyelid at 4 weary but chatty mums and 5 kids aged between 3 and 3 months all losing the plot one by one.

Menu is: good sandwiches, poached eggs on toast, welsh rarebit kind of thing and baked beans on toast etc for kids. ?5 more or less per main adult meal, and more different types of cake than you could imagine.

Only prob, as name suggests, they don't do coffee...only tea but many different types and all served in teapots with tea cosies and in cute teacup china.

      Southwark council has lower council tax than Lambeth. I'm sure if Southwark raised their council tax  to cover similar street cleaning teams, the people on here complaining about leaves would be complaining bitterly about that!

      Nope, just a regular old swimming pool. Nice enough house, but £2.75m seems a lot for 3 beds...  And the garden seems very sad, with minimal greenery and massive fences all the way around.

      Sadly, your experience seems pretty typical to me. Estate agents must surely be a dying breed. Apart from adding your photos to Rightmove, and setting up a few appointments, what do they actually do? We sold our house last year, over £10k in estate agents fees, for appalling service, rude, patronising, as you said zero proactivity, zero feedback, I was constantly chasing. Just avoid any beginning with W, that would be my advice.

      A friend works for Lambeth cleaning the streets, there is a team and they work round all roads in their area, clearing weeds growing between paving and edges etc, as well as the rubbish people leave. There is so much work that he usually works weekends as well. If you live around the Gypsy Hill area/ West Dul/ Tulse Hill area, you'll very likely have nice clean and tidy pavements.
