Sue, you're in for a treat love, they're back!!

I had this picture emailed to me by my boyfriend earlier...

http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-EmM0JyUH2gY/TyZ-iIaxarI/AAAAAAAACtg/W1pW74sFifI/s320/More_Bottles%2521.JPG

with the message:

I don't believe this...

I opened one and had a sniff. Are you ashamed?! It smelt rank - put it

this way, it's not orange squash. It was a bit like a stinky dog

smell. God I want to know what this is!!

So after a week's hiatus they're back with a vengeance... do you think it likely to be related to fact that we've had a caravan parked on our road for the past month or so??

Surely it's too dark to be pee?? If it is then it must be coming from some malfunctioning kidneys!

Yes, if that's piss then somebody is either extremely dehydrated (though surely they wouldn't be pissing that much in that case) or extremely ill, I should say. Not that I have any medical knowledge at all :))

I'm in hiding today following a heavy weekend - hopefully they will still be there tomorrow!

Looking at the photos of the bottles all lined up on the green box, the variation in colour is quite pronounced.

Do you think this could be a way of measuring Climate Change?

Hot days = dark liquid?

Cool days = lighter?

Bit like Dendrochronology (tree rings) we could use them to plot the temperature fluctuations in Worlingham Road.

3 x dark bottles could mean the hottest weekend in January since records began. (3 weeks ago???)

Fabulous! a wee thermometer?! Whatever next ;-)

wasn't urine also used in the past to set colours in fabrics?

plus I'm sure I saw a film where a guy peed on a cotton sheet which apparently made it stronger so he could twist it round the bars of a jail cell to bend them and free himself... or did I just see that in a weird dream?!

oh and it's also apparently good for jellyfish stings, but it has to be 'donated' by someone else... so I'm told!

Ode of a plastic bottle.

Plastic bottles seen on a Worlingham Road wall,

placed there now, they totter a bit and tend to fall.

To see or not to see? That is the open question,

their fluid contents is now open to a suggestion.

The contents colour and shade varies quite a lot,

could it be the sun shining on them in this spot.

Now some have been rested on these boxes,

I don't think they belong to those local foxes.

Could it contain a new fuel that I can put my car,

if I chance it, and it?s no good, I wont get too far.

The weather is changing now getting very cold,

the bottles contents do not freeze, or so I am told.

I thought I might save some money with this liquid,

so this is the use I put to strange colour orange fluid.

I put it in my cars radiator to act as an anti freeze,

might be good idea of mine, might be wizard wheeze.

The car seems to be O.K. It still goes good like hell,

only thing now, inside there is such a dreadful smell.

I cant complain it has saved me just a bit of money,

soon got used to the smell, but others think its funny.

If you need anti freeze then take what your car needs,

I don't guarantee the fluid, will work at high speeds.

Remember to replace back your empties to be refilled,

think of others who can use it, who like you are chilled.

Teddy the Taxi driver is known to be a bit small,

he was seen putting those bottles on the wall.

He said he got held up in the Blackwell Tunnel,

lucky man keeps in the car, his Antifreeze funnel.

It does make one wonder what happens in the future,

why he does not think to use and empty a catheter.

Think of the sights that we might have to endure,

will there be a sighting of a home made Manure?

So he certainly takes chances, and has the bottle,

slows right down then foot off of the throttle.

Nips to the wall to place his fresh product there,

then back into the car and drive off like a Hare.

Because it's a quiet spot on a route he does every day, maybe on the way home or back to the minicab firm. He doesn't want to take the indoors so leaves them on the street.

I just don't buy that as a theory. You've been watching too much Piss Marple...

I don't think the vendetta theory is right as he leaves them in other places too. Also, the regularity suggests a routine, e.g. he's on his way home and just wants an easy spot to dump them.

    • Surprise, surprise. It didn't take them long, did it. This will be something of a test as to how much the council really care about parks and the environment. A footfall of 60,000. Are they mad? There is no way this park is designed for or can sustain that sort of use. Just had a look at the schedule. If allowed to go ahead, this will involve a large slice of the park (not the common) sectioned off and out of use for three weeks of May and the first week of June. Here's an idea, why not trial the festival in one of the other Southwark Parks, so the 'goodness' can be shared around the borough?
    • There was another unprovoked attack on Monday this week on a young woman nearby (Anstey Road) at 6.45pm. Don't have any other details, it was posted on a Facebook group by her flatmate. Pretty worrying  https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1EGfDrCAST/
    • OMFG is it possible for the council to do anything without a bunch of armchair experts moaning about it? The library refurb is great news, as it's lovely but completely shagged out - the toilets don't even work reliably. Other libraries in the area will be open longer house during the closure. July is a rubbish time to begin a refurb because it's just before the entire construction sector goes on summer holiday, and it would mean delaying the work another 8 months.
