chicken pox during pregnancy

Just been diagnosed as having chicken pox and im 32 weeks pregnant tomorrow. Just wondered if anyone else has experienced this whilst pregnant and any advice etc. I also have a 3 year old daughter so need to keep an eye on her to see if she gets it.

Tends to be an issue for pregnancy and baby if caught before 20 weeks or about 2 w eels prior to birth. Best to contact your midwife and check if they wish to give you anything too.

I've never had chicken pox and was told to be 'extremely careful' and 'contact a GP asap' if I get in during both pregnancies so better to do it soon and be safe than sorry.

Re your daughter: both of my kids (3.5y and 15 months) had the pox in Dec and if it wasn't for the spots you'd never guess they had chicken pox, it seemed very mild so it is probably best if they get it now than later in life

just wondered if anyone has any advice/tips on how to cope with this? I have been using calomie lotion but its not stopping the itching or pain im experiencing with these spots and i seem to be getting more.

Eurax cream is suppose to be fab & oatmeal baths (oatmeal in a sock to avoid it becoming porridge!).

The anti-histimine Piriton (sorry about spelling) is good for itching etc. for chickenpox.

Check with your chemist/GP first.
