Not very Rock'n'Roll but for me very interesting as;


a) Similar ages, area, backgrounds and influences in the 70s (so personally liked that bit)

b) a story of sudden/instant global fame

c) slide into addiction

A shout-out for Jimmy McDonough's Neil Young biography "Shakey" - and look out later in the year for Neil's autobiography "Waging Heavy Peace".


Worst biography? Jerry Hopkins' and Danny Sugarman's hilariously OTT "No One Here Gets Out Alive": "My personal belief is that Jim Morrison was a god."

    • No. I'm just genuinely interested to know why you continue to live in a place which you consider to be "lawless", and where you don't feel safe. Interesting turn of phrase, though, given your views of East Dulwich and Central London, "all guns blazing".
    • I feel safe.  I've suffered my own share of crime in London, and also elsewhere in the UK and world.  But I still feel safe  For those giving personal rather than objective cures about crime, and speculating, I suggest that you attend your SNT meeting.

    • So you don't feel safe in London, but you don't want to live elsewhere? What do you do, barricade yourself in your home and never venture out? I have my eyes (sic)  open. Yes there is crime in London. That doesn't make London "lawless".
