Over the past months it has been increasingly obvious that the cat owners of ED are finding it ever more difficult to look after or even keep hold of their cats. These pesky felines have a habit if running off, being adopted or being kidnapped by Cruella Deville types.

A select group of EDers have come up with the solution: StreetCat.

As assortment of cats will be purchased, chipped and then tethered with an electronic leash at key points within ED.

Participants will buy a swipe card that will allow them to release their cat of choice and take it home. Payment will be taken by direct debit.

Should you feel in need of kitty-love, you simply pop down to your local StreetCat tethering point and collect your moggie. Release the cat using your swipe-card and take it home.

Your responsibility will be to feed and keep the cat comfortable until you get bored with it and return it to the StreetCat tethering point. If you lose the cat, a replacement fee would be charged.

You will be charged by the hour, day, week or month depending on your preference.

Your success in feeding and looking after the cat will be measured by weighing the cats on a periodic basis.

This great idea will cut out the need for long term commitment, holiday cat sitting worries or indeed lost cat trauma.

A range of colours and sizes will be available. Both sexes will be sterilised.

If the idea takes off we see it expanding to:

StreetDog

StreetHamster

StreetGoldfish

and

StreetGranny
