Psychologists would describe that aggressive response, where you once again failed to answer the question, as 'masking'.

The idea being that if you respond with sufficient aggression you will deter the enquirer from exposing your weakness.

So that's probably a clear indicator that you don't really know why you posted about cloud seeding?

I think that's called displacement ;-)

Not sure you need a PHD to see what's right in front of you?

What you were trying to do was vindicate breadbin's lunatic claim that vapour trails are a terrorist attack on Birmingham by juxtaposing it with the science of cloud seeding.

In doing so you hoped that the terrorist attack claim would somehow seem more plausible, and that you could jack up the fear level of the general population.

That's what moves you from being a harmless nut into a rather more vindictive position.

New Nexus.

I have to say I actually quite enjoy your weird links and bonkers theories, that surety that you are party to esoteric knowledge [self-]denied the rest of us sheeple.

And despite the fact that the theories themselves (and your general worldview that nothing is what it seems running counter to the quacks-like-a-duck/occam's razor approach to things) offend my sensibilities, I think I'd rather miss you if you stopped doing it.

I am however left wondering why you bother doing it on these boards where you are invariably dismissed as a loon, undermined with pesky things like facts and constantly have fun poked of you.

I'm sure there must be richer seams of positive feedback for you on t'interweb.

and you wonder why I think you're a bot?

I'll rewrite my last post in small words shall I?

You make me laugh, but really, why do you keep coming back here when everyone thinks you're theories are daft and worthless?

It's a genuine question, one I'd be interested to read a real response to an actual question asked of you for once.

You don't invest much of yourself in this board do you, you just like to swan in with a vague air of superiority and the debating skills of a twelve year old, and deposit strange morsels of internetwattery.

Come on, what team do you support, music, a bit of Wagner as you ponder the impending apocalypse?

What made you distrust authority so, did your nanny read you HP Lovecraft instead of AA Milne, did a journo break the news to you about Santa or something?

...and NN delivers yet more of these weird robotic non-sequiturs. It's couched as a question, but delivered with bathos and inappropriate punctuation.

They don't quite work - they're not quite part of a dialogue. They don't seem to relate to the rest of the thread.

It's like NN's responses are generated from keyword prompts.

I guess they're intended as biting wit, but they feel so wooden - hollow almost.

Ye gods NN, do you know what hubris means? How it can be used in sentences?

You can't be 'drunk on hubris' until after the fact. Had the Birmingham chem trails actually been a terrorist attack and we'd been left looking silly, then we could suffer hubris.

Before the fall, it's simply arrogance. Of which, when faced with mental conspiracy theories, mea culpa.

Again, what part of cloud seeding do you not understand.

Nowhere is immune sadly star-bob.

NN. This thread asserts that contrails are actually chem trails.

The far more likely answer is that they are in fact condensation formed from jets travelling at high altitude.

Someone then posted an article suggesting that terrorists are dumping chemicals high in the sky above Brimingham.

This one too is unsubstantiated speculation.

You then linked to a wikipedia article about cloud seeding.

Either this is just a completely non-sequitur link because you happened to feel like talking about cloud seeding or you are implying that the terrorist attack was actually a terrorist group trying to make it rain over Birmingham.

Yes cloud seeding exists. It has by and large been proven unreliable at any form of weather control, that's not to say noone has ever tried, usually in places suffering sever drought.

Why anyone would cloud seed above Birmingham is anyone's guess. Why terrorists would do so is even more mistifying given the difficulties, enormous costs and limited socio-political effects of some unexpected rain over a large metropolitan area.

Hair bleach is cheaper and things going bang tend to get noticed a bit more when trying to bring society to its knees or force governments into your desired action.

So we're still left with a need for you to answer: What is your point regards the cloud seeding?

Again, what part of cloud seeding do you not understand.

from the link you provided:

"For release by aircraft, silver iodide flares are ignited and dispersed as an aircraft flies through the inflow of a cloud."

Could you explain how this would go un-noticed please, nn? I dont see an awful lot of clouds in the first photo on this thread, and I havent heard any reports of flares being released and ignited from airliners.

And then theres the small matter of the airline companies from many different nations all being highly co-ordinated and secretive in the complex execution of this chemical seeding so that the CIA/Illuminati/aliens/Elvis could control our puny brains with their all-powerful chemical mind-rubbers..... like I said, seems fair enough, doesn't it?

I have frien...acquaintances who are all obsessed with posting chemtrail / conspiracy theory / US Govt / 'facts' on FB. They all have one thing in common: they take an absurd amount of mind-altering drugs. I'm a fan of Ben Goldacre myself...he cool, he clever and I'm guessing doesn't spend his weekends bumping the K.

    • I’m not a Gail’s fan but there’s no reason a business shouldn’t open on Christmas Day. However, nobody should be compelled to work the day which, given the widespread coverage of Gail’s questionable employment practices, has to be a possibility here.  The only business I ever use on the 25th is maybe a pub and that’s a rarity these days but buses running would be very welcome for visiting etc. But the swings in the park should definitely remain chained up. Are parks even open on Christmas Day?
    • To be honest, pal, it's not good being a fan of a local business and then not go there. One on hand, the barber shop literally next door to Romeo Jones started serving coffee. The Crown and Greyhound and Rocca serve coffee. Redemption Coffee opened up not far away, and then also Megan's next door to that. DVillage was serving coffee (but wasn't very popular), as was Au Ciel (which is). Maybe also Heritage Cheese, I don't know. There's also Flotsam and Jetsam doing coffee and sandwiches at Dulwich Picture Gallery in the other direction. The whole of Dulwich Village serves coffee. And yet on the other hand, there are enough punters to support all good coffee shops. With the exception of Rocca and Megan's (which are both big spaces) and C&G (which does coffee like everything else - slow and with bad service), all these places regularly get queues out the door. Gail's often has big queues and yet very few people crossed the street to Romeo Jones (which was much better)... Half the staff at Gail's are perfectly fine and efficient. The other half are pretty offhand and rude. It's certainly not welcoming or friendly service. But they're certainly hard working, and no doubt raking the money in for Luke Johnson...
    • Well according to a newspaper article, Gail’s is opening 10 shops in London,,, yup Dulwich is named 10/5 I seem to recall with others in London opening at 7 am…!, Guess that is to capture workers coming off all night shift. Offering free mince pies until they run out.. So very sad to hear about Romeo Jones… been a customer since the opening, any idea where Patrick has gone or details… please pm me.    What is going to be in its place…. Will be around in Jan…umm village is changing….
    • interesting the police said "the car was in demand at the moment" what make/model is that?
