midivydale
Hi all,Please could someone recommend a good sling for my two week old son. He hates being put down and I thought maybe a sling would help him being closed to me. We have spent the last two weeks cuddled up on the sofa day and night. This of course is lovely but I do need to do the odd tidy at some point and the LO just hates being put down.Any advice?Indebted as always ladies... Pickle
A wrap sling is ideal for this - I use a Hugabub with my 8 week old which is brilliant, she's cosy and falls asleep leaving me hands free to cook dinner etc.
crystal7
Seconded pickle! I have a moby which was a liftsaver in the early weeks and still use it on the house at 5 months. You're welcome to borrow it for a few days. Tppk me a while to master tying it but after watching loads of you tube clips it became easy. I also liked using my Ergo carrier with the newborn insert when baby was tiny. I have the insert you can have but obviously only useful if you've got an Ergo! amyw
I did not get on with the moby, def try it before you buy to check you and the baby can get to grips with it.I got a hop-tye which worked better for me. It's a mei tai style sling with adjustable bits to make it better for teeny babies. The south London sling library hs one you could try.The ergo was good too, though hot as the insert is quite padded.
mrsbee
Like Pickle I have also used a hugabub for all 3 of my babies. The baby is really cosy and will sleep while leaving you with two free hands to get on with jobs/ have a cup of tea...
sophiechristophy
If you want to try some out to find the right one for you, you can go to a sling library:http://southlondonslings.com/It's in West Norwood :)
espelli
I also love the wrap slings - I have a kari me which is amazing - very comfy and the tying it does get easier! Worth having a go with it before buying one though.
kittysailing
Hi I have a Moby wrap which I love - its so comfy - like wearing a jumper - baby loves it too. I have tried a few baba sling , bjorn , ergo etc and it's the most comfortable by far. Welcome to try mine and I'll show you how to put it on! I can't put little one down either! snowboarder
I had a close sling - cross between a wrap and a really nice soft carrier - with rings rather than need for tying knots. I liked it a lot and easy to get baby in and out but by 4/5m he was a bit heavy for it really. Nice and cuddly though!
simonethebeaver
I loved both the Moby and Kari-Me but would definitely agree that Emily at the Sling Library will be the best person to help here. Enjoy!
