Fed up with paying over the odds for a haircut?

Took myself and my sons for a half-term haircut at GK Barbers.

Was really impressed with the level of service and outcome, so I promised to make a recommendation on EDF.

Ahmed is a great guy and has a new colleague who recently started.

Always puts boys at ease and follows suggestions and gets on with job.

?12 Men and ?10 for kids - absolute bargain when you compare to local barbers in SE22.

Open 7 days a week.

My husband and son also go to GK. Ahmed is lovely with kids (he has 2 small kids himself). Prices are reasonable too and unless you go in the middle of Saturday its generally not too busy.

I don't think that paying a fiver for kids cuts is sustainable unless you're doing it as a loss leader and charging lots more for the adult version - but given he charges ?2 more for the adults this isn't the case. The kids cuts often take longer anyway as they don't sit quite as still!

    • If I was on a table of two accused of eating thirty poppadoms (with pickles and chutneys) on top of curries and sides, I think I'd be inclined to say 'Yep, that was us' and ask the waiter to write off the entire bill. That is a truly heroic feat and should be recognised as such, even if you didn't actually do it.

    • I would question ‘affordable’. Fit For is £115 per month for the standard (cheapest) membership.    for comparison, the leisure centre on CPRoad is £44 per month (£37 for concessions) and JAGs sports club is £60 per month, they also have various concession or family membership offers
