Oh no, sorry to hear that Helen.

Great meeting yesterday. Nine people, so a good start to the new year.

I enjoyed my Chicken Tikka Massala and generally felt that the food had improved somewhat since our last visit, which was some time ago.

Out of interest last year we went to the following:

Jan 13 - Jaflong

Feb - Surma

Mar - Dulwich Tandoori

April - Swadesh - (Does anybody know if Swadesh is still alcohol free?)

May - Omrith

June - Jaflong

July - Mirash

Aug - Tandoori Nights

Sept - Ganapati

Oct - Dulwich Tandoori

Nov - Curry Cabin

Dec - Dulwich Tandoori

Jan 14 - Veer Zara

So , looks to me like Surma is due a visit on February 6th.

Namaste!!

Not unless they have changed their policy...

No alcohol to be consumed on the premises.

It may well be.. but I certainly do not wish to get into any debate along those lines.

At the time Swadesh decided to stop selling alcohol there had been a visit to Mecca by certain restaurant staff.

On return some local restaurants considered not selling alcohol, not just Swadesh.

After consultation with some of their customers and at Prayers with spiritual leaders

decisions were made and some restaurants decided to continue and some didn't.

It is important that people respect the wishes and beliefs of those who have chosen not to continue.

It may well be that the decision was not based on religious grounds and that I do not know.

Take the word literal which is now used to mean the very opposite of how the word used to be used, irritating for some of us but demonstrates the English language is vibrant and alive and also very subjective. The best method is to hang individual feeders inside a wire  cage that has a 2"x2" mesh on all sides that is mounted above ground. Being above ground it stops slugs and rats getting in. And with mesh on the bottom, the risk of transmitting disease from any droppings is eliminated. Small birds feel safe from predators in three These cages are available online for about £33
