Hi, I have to get a skip, builder wants to take everything out on Saturday and the parking restrictions state Mon-Fri. You have to suspend a bay to put a skip there now in Southwark if it has restricted parking but is that only on the days that they have the restrictions? I am hoping not to have to suspend ghe bay because it requires 10 days prior notice. Yes, did call parking, pressed the 'Suspending a bay' option and the guy who answered had no clue, ditto his manager :(
Y are u getting a skip normally the builder deals with skips permits etc I recently had some work done and the builder dealt with all that he used a company that brought the skip Saturday morning at 9 and waited till it was loaded approximately a hour saved a lot of hassle
Most skip companies organise the licence for you. In fact I think they're required to under Southwark byelaws. The skip company has to be registered with Southwark. But the Saturday delivery may well be your bigger obstacle as has been pointed out.
This is a separate issue to skips licences, this is an additional admin thing from Southwark- the need to suspend a parking bay which delays you for a further ten days. I got my answer from Southwark finally though- even if you want the skip on a Saturday when there are no parking restrictions you still have to pay to suspend the bay as if it were a Mon/Tues etc. Doesn't make any sense but I guess it brings in money for the council The extra ten day delay is more annoying than the extra cost thing. Thanks everyone for your input.

    • It's a Microsoft . pub file, and it does open OK, but that's a discontinued program which used to be part of the full Office suite. I've got an old machine with old software and it's still on that.  This is a .pdf version (I hope)April 2025 Dulwich Hill Newsletter.pdf
    • Even with Acrobat pro - it does not open even though it is an acrobat doc.   Error: "Adobe Acrobat could not open 'April 2025 Dulwich Hill Newsletter.pub' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded). To create an Adobe PDF document, go to the source application. Then choose Save as Adobe PDF from the PDF dropdown in the Print dialog."
    • I got my hair cut there and was very happy with it. I thought the pricing was fair - less than Blue Tit which is where I used to go. Jonny used to cut my hair years ago. I went to book him but ended up with Gabriele who did a great job. Will use them again. Also their junior price goes up to 17.
