OK, not photography, but.

I remember reading about this chap many years ago when he was still young. He's autisitc but in that savant (though far from an idiot) way he can draw the most stunningly detailed pictures from memory. Amazing work

His talent is incredible. I remember a documentary on TV about 20 years ago about a group of talented autistic children of which he was one. He must have been about 10 years old and drew a detailed picture of St Pancras Station from memory. There was also a kid who could play entire concerto's after hearing them once and another who could tell you what the day was the instant you threw out a random date in the future or past.

one for brendan

can you see that? It's the 'penrith' tea room. It's actually in Stony Stratford outside Milton Keynes and is a chemist now.

I went in and bought some aspirin and muttered 'and the finest wines available to humanity' under my breath. I'm sure it happens all the time :)

Sorry but ppl still have difficulty believing me that Therese really DID come to me work place...

If you want to create an "antique" effect for some reason [social networking site etc] and the deck you are using doesn't have Photoshop [or similar[ installed, this site may be useful:

By the way, does anybody else on the forum shoot with a 40D? If so, could you offer any tips regarding the custom user settings? Cheers!

    • Thought others may be interested to help a local community centre help others.    My bank account offers roundup and it’s been growing all year. As well as treating myself or putting it towards a train ticket to see my family I’ve made a donation to the Albrighton. They can use donations at any time but I hope my donation will go towards the Christmas hampers.    Can you support them so they can provide Christmas hampers?   https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/albrightoncommunityfridge?utm_id=1&utm_term=M22JKQb6W   A donation of £50 will pay for a hamper to feed a family over this Christmas period. A donation of £30 will pay for a hamper to feed someone living on their own over the Christmas period.
    • I've never got Christmas pudding. The only times I've managed to make it vaguely acceptable to people is thus: Buy a really tiny one when it's remaindered in Tesco's. They confound carbon dating, so the yellow labelled stuff at 75% off on Boxing Day will keep you going for years. Chop it up and soak it in Stones Ginger Wine and left over Scotch. Mix it in with a decent vanilla ice cream. It's like a festive Rum 'n' Raisin. Or: Stick a couple in a demijohn of Aldi vodka and serve it to guests, accompanied by 'The Party's Over' by Johnny Mathis when people simply won't leave your flat.
    • Not miserable at all! I feel the same and also want to complain to the council but not sure who or where best to aim it at? I have flagged it with our local MP and one Southwark councillor previously but only verbally when discussing other things and didn’t get anywhere other than them agreeing it was very frustrating etc. but would love to do something on paper. I think they’ve been pretty much every night for the last couple of weeks and my cat is hating it! As am I !
    • That is also a Young's pub, like The Cherry Tree. However fantastic the menu looks, you might want to ask exactly who will cook the food on the day, and how. Also, if  there is Christmas pudding on the menu, you might want to ask how that will be cooked, and whether it will look and/or taste anything like the Christmas puddings you have had in the past.
