Well it should be judging by their prices..

Which probably explains why they do not display their Menu and prices in the window.


I had thought it was a Legal Requirement for Restaurants to display the menu or part of it in the window door

or in a suitable frame outside the premises so that customers have an idea as to how much they

might be expected to pay.

Fiver for a Main Course (Indian) ???

Where might that be ? back in 2005 ?


I pay around ?22.00 for a Curry with rice and a small beer. But I am not going to pay ?35.00 for the same meal

Yeah, I think it used to be... certainly back in the day everywhere seemed to do it, but doesn't seem to be the case these days.


I've never been convinced TN is anything remarkable, but in it's favour, the food was always much less greasy than the other curry houses on LL. The lack of indigestion always counted for something.

Hi Foxy, I think it was a requirement to display near the entry to the premises but maybe no longer. I think the legislation now talks about not misleading at the point of sale. Obviously very helpful for a passing punter if they have an idea before they go in and fill their faces though.

Finally went back to Tandoori Nights for the first time in Many Years..


Owner welcomed me as we often have a chat outside.

Mentioned prices were Very expensive and he replied Yes because of the quality.


Well, at 10.00pm none of the tables were laid. No Cutlery, no candles, no salt & pepper.

Just bare white table cloths.


I Ordered poppadoms (no chutney) Chicken Madras, Pilau Rice and plain Naan well done.


Food warmer came then a serving plate which was stone cold. Rice was cold. Naan was warm at the very best

Not well done but hard solid disc. Worst Naan ever.

Curry was tiny and I'm a small eater. Madras ?? ?9.95 had No flavour and no spice. not slightly Hot (spice)

Curry was also cold and I did try to warm it up on the tea light in the food warmer.

They were not happy when I asked for water as I was not willing to pay ?6.40 for 660ml Kingfisher.


I told the owner I was disappointed and he did reduce the price from ?16.70 ish to ?15.00 but I paid the full

price and paid a couple of quid tip cos that's the sort of thing I do.


I even asked if they do delivery but the don't. I asked about Take Away but they do not do that either.

You can call them and collect the food when it's ready.


10.00pm on a Saturday night Me and 2 other customers that were leaving.

I think the message is getting through.

ETA tried Tandoori Nights because Dulwich Tandoori and Memsaab were Full to capacity. No seats.

Sounds like i will avoid Tandoori Nights. I always use Memsaab, and if that is full there will be plenty of other choices nearby i will try instead.


Giving the answer of 'higher quality' or 'organic' ingredients to justify higher prices than their rivals is likely to be pure nonsense, although i realise some people will take that on face value, for some strange reason.

Don?t believe Dulwich Fox?s review, seems he has a chip on his shoulder for some reason. I have used tandoori nights before and since re-opening. Food has always been top 1.

Dulwich fox previously tried to claim ?35 for a curry rice and small beer. No idea how he calculated that one!!!

I also think 6.40 for a 660ml beer is probably the norm, that?s more than a pint. So seems about right.

He mentioned that they don?t do delivery, or takeaway, but you can call and collect. Yeah that?s take away mate. Nothing like a bit of support for your local community.

Keep doing what you are doing Tandoori Nights, it?s great to have you back better than ever!!

Large Kingfisher 660ml in Memsaab is ?4.95 and Memsaab are not the cheapest.


I'm actually a Friend of the owner of Tandoori Nights and often stop for a chat

so there is no Chip.

But ?9.95 for a Chicken Madras is also Not the Norm. Even for around here.


My review was an accurate account of my recent visit.


And I do support my local community.

I Eat in Memsaab, Dulwich Tandoori, Jaflong Tandoori, Mirash, Hisar, Kebab & Wine

Sema Fish Shop, Hong Hong Chinese.


Like the night of my Visit last night just after 10.00pm Tandoori Nights was COMPLETLY empty.

Not one customer.

Dulwich Tandoori and Memsaab were full with no space available.

Kind of speaks for itself.

I really think you need to back up your facts when criticising. Your prices don?t seem to reflect the menu. Chicken Madras is 8.95, NOT 9.95 which you are claiming. Previously you claimed ?35 for a curry rice and small beer, but your latest visit was 16.70ish. That?s a huge difference. Also I find it hard to believe that you say that the restaurant was completely empty, as every time I have been even to collect a Take Away, (that?s right they do do Take away) it has been packed. Also please remember they have only just re-opened, maybe not all is aware yet.

I?m not bad mouthing any of the other establishments but feel you have just made up false claims and this is unfair.

Like I said, try back up your facts and I?ll eat my hat but don?t see that happening.

Kinda hungry now.... tandoori nights will be getting a call.

Do people actually eat in Kebab & Wine? Thought it was a late night drinking den where one went to score one's narcotics?

They were meant to be open for Eat-In. Have not seen anyone eating there.

Not seen anyone late night drinking there either.

Then I am not out late at night (after 11.00pm)


Narcotics, ??? Don't think so.

      Assistance Dogs - Autism: any experiences?

Whilst the industry appears unregulated/unlicensed, there are several providers (approx 15, perhaps more) who claim to have fully trained dogs or say that they can help families to train a puppy/young dog over the 18-24 months.  The latter obviously comes with a need for strong commitment to the challenge. Costs for a fully trained assistance dog are quoted at £13-15k albeit they claim £23k total cost to train the dog. On the one hand, this could potentially be a useful solution for some families if such a dog was truly trained as their websites claim and such a dog was accepted in public places and schools etc… On the other hand, I don’t think that I’ve ever seen an assistance dog of this type or in this context (only for a blind or partially sighted person) and hence a real risk of fraud or exploitation! The SEN challenge for families coupled with limited resources in schools or from local authorities or the NHS as well as the extremely challenging experience of many families with schools offering little or no support or making the situation worse leaves a big risk of lots of different types of fraud and or exploitation in this area.

      Hi there  We live on Woodwarde Road backing on to Alleyns Top Field.  Our cat Gigi has gone missing — it’s been about 24 hours now. She is a cream Bengal.
