TheArtfulDogger
It certainly ran like clockwork, and I think it was released in 1903 🤓Failing that I have some old MS DOS discs in the loft, on a modern pc they would run like it was on steroids Who needs GUI ? DulwichFox
It would seem it may also need a Memory expansion to accommodate it. Also an upgrade of Graphics Card and Driver Sets. So further research needed. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/229422-windows-10-update-to-to-version-1903/#findComment-1348153 Share on other sites
DulwichFox
Sounds like a real PainUnlike in previous versions of Windows, you?ll need to use the media creation tool to create an ISO file to install Windows 10. Make sure you have a license to install Windows 10. Also it is necessary to disable / uninstall any antivirus otherwise Errors will be encountered and the install will crash. A full Back is also required.. I think I will stick with what I have got. se22cat
No issues here. If you have concerns, try running it as a VM. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/229422-windows-10-update-to-to-version-1903/#findComment-1348162 Share on other sites

JohnL
My home laptop is 6 years old (still it's an i7 with 16 GB RAM but no SDD) - likes all updates usually :)I'll check tonight if it's upgraded as I leave it by itself mostly. DulwichFox
I'm getting a message when I switch my machine on. Dynamic lock not working. It is due to Bluetooth being turned off. You have to pair it to another device. I haven't done this. Its not needed in a home environment. Foxy. RichH
You probably have "Dynamic Lock" turned on (or it was arbitrarily turned on by your recent update.)To turn it off, go to Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options.Scroll down and uncheck the box that says "Allow Windows to automatically lock your device when you're away". Sue
Since that last update, every time I turn on my laptop I get this sign-in thing to OneDrive, which is a bit annoying.I can get rid of it each time, but I'd rather it didn't come up at all.Where in Settings (I assume) can I stop it appearing? I don't want to use OneDrive, I have everything saved in Carbonite. se22cat
I can understand not wanting to use Onedrive (though it works pretty well) but what happens if/when the serverfarm Carbonite use has a fire/flood/goes out of business? Always best to use two cloud services and a remote box at a relative/trusted friends place (though if you encrypt everything, no need for them to even be a trusted friend...). Sue
I think it's highly unlikely Carbonite will go down at the same time as all my stuff suddenly disappears :)OneDrive doesn't have anything like enough storage for me ..... At least it'll then be available should you wish to use it in the future. But if you really want to be rid of it, click the little "Cloud" OneDrive icon in the system tray, then click "More" and then "Settings" from the pop-up menu. In the "Account" tab click "Unlink this PC" and then "Unlink account". RichH
Yes, OneDrive is still installed so, should you want to use it in the future, you just launch the OneDrive app from the Start Screen and then run through the setup wizard.
