2 Airliners with RAF Escorts.

Anybody else see two airliners fly from East London over the city each with 2 RAF planes almost on their wing tips last night at 6pm?

If you search "RAF escort" on Twitter it seems they weren't airliners being escorted but other military planes.

Yeah I saw them from Victoria.

The first one looked like a surveillance aircraft (Sentry?) escorted by two Typhoons.

The second was a transporter (a Tri-Star I think) escorted by two Tornados.

No idea what for or why though. Some sort of fly past or returning home to Northfleet?

I believe it was fly past celebrating our armed forces involvement in Libya a year ago.

Pictures in the papers with military personnel standing for a salute ourside the houses of parliament and the caption said a fly past took place.
