Has anyone replaced kitchen cabinet doors & worktops?

Looking to refresh a kitchen with just replacing floor / doors / worktop and would appreciate any advice on companies / fitters that anyone has used recently. Thanks

Hi, we recently painted our cabinet fronts and changed the handles and they look like new doors and not painted at all. I did a lot of research into the correct paints and processes to use and am happy to advise if you go down that route. We also stripped our varnished oak worktops, restained with a white natural product to lighten and recoated.

Thanks, that's a kind offer, but they are very old and battered and really need replacing. Not sure how easy to fit myself..

If the hinges are in good condition and you are happy to keep them, it?s a simple matter of matching the door dimensions (including thickness) and attaching. Not so easy if you are buying doors (although sometimes you can get lucky)but very possible if you are making doors. B&q will cut wood to provided dimensions btw. Good luck.

We used Mr Worktop in Camberwell (about 4 years ago) and they were very good. The joiners on Northcross Road might be able to advise on cutting/fitting new doors.

It is possible to DIY replace if you want to.

Buy or hire a hinge jig.

Buy blank doors and drill out using the jig.
