susyp
My nearly 4 year old daughter is fairly obsessed with princess stories and her favourite is beauty and the beast. I'm thrilled that it's out again in the cinema as she has never been and it's a lovely way to introduce it to her. However, I am wondering if it would be better to go for one of the 2d showings rather than 3d. I have actually never seen a 3d film myself so not sure what it entails - but I don't want to freak her out on her first visit to the cinema. Are 3d films better for older children or do younger children love them? thank you (oldfogey here!)susypx Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/23333-beauty-and-the-beast-2d-or-3d/ Share on other sites
oimissus
I think that unless the film was shot in 3D (which I don't think this would have been) then it's probably not worth the money - this is from a geek friend who's seen both kinds and reckons you can tell which have had 3D 'added' to them. Your daughter will love it whatever! Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/23333-beauty-and-the-beast-2d-or-3d/#findComment-542288 Share on other sites
BeccaL
Tricky one. I'm not mad on 3d films but the trailer for that did look like the effects might work well. However will your daughter wear the glasses for the whole thing? Mine went to a couple of 3d films at about that age and wore the glasses for such a short time it must have been a blur... If it's her first trip to the cinema i'd probably go 2d. nabz
2D! i went to see it in imax in 2D and it was great i hate 3D my head hurts after an hour and a half so im sure for a 4 year old it will be even more annoying... susyp
thank you i am now sold on 2d!now having a "debate" with hubby who wants to take her to a massive screen to watch it as he remembers going to the cinema for the first time and being amazed how big it was. Whereas I like those tiny little cinemas. She is more like him and very visual so I think he's probably right!
