My friend is well up the duff, and we're hoping for one last hurrah before she pops, and are planning a weekend at the end of June.

Thing is, I can't take a day off work at the moment, so it will need to be somewhere we can get to on Friday after work and back on Sunday night (or even at a push, Monday morning in time to be in work by 10). And that not be too much of a stress.

She's a right pernickety one, so Paris is out, as is a spa weekend, unless it's somewhere where there's other stuff to do (she's a bit fractious). I fancied Lyon, so we could gorge ourselves on all manner of deliciousness, but there are so many things that are off the menu, that seems to be a no-go.

Anyone got brilliant ideas?

Ooh, please do.

Yes she's my best friend, and I love her dearly, but she's awfully hard to please.

She's already told me that she can't eat most cheeses. And shellfish. And cured meats. So stuffing our faces in France is out.

And can't go in the sauna or hot tub, so a spa's not ideal.

And wants it to be relaxing, so doesn't really want to fly out Friday night and back Sunday, because then it's too hurried and stressful.

And wants it to be hot, because then it feels like we've "been away".

Ye gads.

Advice changed hugely between pregnancy of Pibi?o mkI and MkII (who incidentally arived yesterday, huzzah!!).

Shellfish is fine as long as it's cooked.

Cured meats are by and large fine now too, I think they realised it that Queen Victoria was on the throne last time someone got listeria from a slice of saucisson.

Cheeses, just blue and unpasteurised are off the menu.

She can probably eat more than she realises if she's not taking the strictest outdated NHS advice or the shrillest threads on mumsnet as guidance.

St Ives is a nice idea. I do like fish and chips. And the seaside! And the light! And the art!

And Ladygooner, I know what you're saying, and I'm inclined to agree. Just causes anxieties because money's very tight for me, and not at all for her. And while she sort of gets that, she only sort-of does, so in the recent past I've been committed to stuff I could ill afford when she did the planning. That's why I was hoping I could find something brilliant that she'd love, that I'd enjoy too, but I could control the budget. Might be asking the impossible.

What amazes me is the similarity in every way to Gala - large areas annexed but the council trying to convince everyone it's only a tiny part of the park. Claiming that the flora & fauna is being protected when the reality is a tick-box environmental survey that's not worth the paper it's written on. All very depressing.

Delivering a reliable service is our top priority, and I am very sorry that your constituent has cause for concern. I am always disappointed when I hear that any of our customers do not feel that they are receiving the service that they ought to. Following your communication, I contacted the Customer Operations Manager at Peckham Delivery Office. They have advised me that there are no current issues with the delivery of mail to addresses on Chadwick Road. They have confirmed that mail deliveries are taking place six days a week, when there is mail available to be delivered, and I am assured that there is no mail currently awaiting delivery. If at any point a delivery round cannot be completed on a particular day, for example we may have a shortage of staff, the unit will ensure that the address will become the priority the following working day. I hope that this reply is helpful. As always if we can be of any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us. Yours sincerely Michael Hogg Senior Public Affairs Manager   This was the reply the MP sent me regarding lack of post.
