She's probably frowning and thinking "Why is this woman following me? I see her everywhere!"

:))

What the title says. Is this what we call a good nanny?

I had asked for replys from nannies and parents so I would also get some opinions from both sides of the fence to avoid this being a one sided parent topic. There has been some very helpful and honest reply's without being offensive.

From my experiences, most people working in childcare are extremly kind, truly love their little charges and get paid very little for what is a very tiresome job. If you are worried about having to rely on just the one person (which is after all a legitimate concern), I would give nurseries a go if I were you.

I work as a nanny looking after two young children. I love my job and the children I look after mean a lot to me. We do have fun together, play time, cuddle time and so on as well as times when I have to be strict and firm. There are times when I have the 18 months old in the push chair and the 3 year old wanting me to pull her scooter with her on it whilst pushing the buggy- hmmmm, just explaining that you cant do it to a 3 year old is like talking to the air because the only thing I get in return is a loud cry, I mean very loud and a dramatic tantrum as well as dirty looks from strangers giving you this "bad nanny look" without obviously knowing the reason/s why I have a screaming toddler by my side. The funny thing is that the moment we get into the house, she acts like nothing ever happened and goes off to play.

It's very easy to judge people, I'm sure she is a good nanny but unfortunately you only see her when the child is playing up. The fact that you still see her around means her employers are obviously happy with her!! I really think you should mind your business and just hope/pray you find a good nanny..

I reported the previous thread and I'm glad it was pulled pretty smartly.

Let's get one thing clear. You. Don't. Know. If. This. Woman. Is. A. Nanny. She could be a mother, an aunt, a friend. You actually know jack-sh*t about her, but appear to be prepared to come on to a public forum, try to identify her, and bash her for what you consider to be her failings as a nanny.

If you are genuinely looking for a nanny I suggest you request to get this thread removed, and look for another way to go about it.

    • I am currently dealing with numerous cases of clay shrinkage subsidence in Dulwich, and have had some success in getting TPOs lifted. I also agree with the comments about being cautious about getting insurers involved and I’m in the Insurance Post Magazine this week discussing this subject. I have written a blog on my website about it too. It’s a huge problem which is currently escalating enormously. UK Subsidence (clay shrinkage and trees) Fb group has experts on it (incl myself) giving free advice and is a useful resource. My Insurer has withdrawn subsidence cover.pdf

    • Yup. At best I have people who detest Trump shrugging and saying something like “what ya gonna do?” Like that is any kind of answer what we gonna do is condemn, and watch out for same happening here - and watch out for all the handmaidens who would allow this to happen.  Apologists for Farage, Jenrick etc
