Agree with Louisiana on sports, especially participation as a spectator - yawn. Other overrated things:

Parties

Dulwich Park and that cafe in it where you have to queue for an hour

Hairdressers - more hairdressers have made me cry than boyfriends

Most TV

Those smock tops that seem so promising but make you look like a spacehopper ... particularly when teamed with -

Skinny jeans

Low rise jeans

MBTs - I'm only wearing them because I was stupid enough to fall for the hype and I can't bear to throw the money away

G-strings - very unhygienic and make your trousers sit badly at the back

Low-rise shorts - make all women look pearshaped

I feel better now.

Agree with Ms B on this one. Over-rated. I only forgive parties if good food is provided.

Yukee!

And the smock tops are particularly bad with big tits.

MBTs?

Dreadful things

Catch 22 - the main conceit aside, just dull.

Home-made mayonaisse - for people who are just too damn lazy to go out and buy salad cream.

Whisk(e)y connoisseurs - it's tan coloured hooch, it gets you pissed. Enough said.

CAMRA - look there's real ale already, stop campaigning. NOW.

Finnegan's Wake - a 'circular' novel apparently. A circular hand movement to it.

Neil Young - stop bloody whining man.

Dolphins are pubs sometimes, so they can't all be bad. The Dolphin in my home town is one of the oldest buildings the town has, it follows the contours of the land and the doorways were meant for four foot dwarves or fit limbo dancers.

most films,

most jobs

most peoples opinion of themselves.

Now I'm not suggesting Charlie Parker is overrated, I think he's great, but he seems to have hit untouchable status when a lot of his stuff, frankly, wouldn't be out of place in a screwball RKO production with Claudette Colbert in!

I blame that Clint Eastwood film with old droopy eye playing Bird, what was it called again?

    • Hi Merry Christmas no joy with that Paul Hackett email thanks
    • Miss Robson is the last of the old school independent vets. All the chains are have seriously hiked their prices over the last few years which now makes pet ownership only possible for the wealthy few. Even with pet insurance -( which often excludes items or has ‘deductibles’ ) it is just so much money. A visit with some medication is often £150 - £200. The vets themselves are excellent.
    • Awful. A Google search came up with this, but will he check his office email over Christmas? Maybe worth also contacting local councillor? 'To contact Southern Housing's CEO, Paul Hackett, you can try his direct email, [email protected], or use the general contact email [email protected], as well as calling their main number, 0300 303 1066, for general inquiries or to be directed to the executive level.' Also, from the website: https://www.southernhousing.org.uk/latest-news/2025/contacting-us-over-the-festive-period   'Contacting us about an emergency? If you have an emergency outside of the above times over the festive period, such as severe flooding, an uncontainable leak, gas leak, complete electrical failure or lift breakdown, please call us on 0300 303 1066' I hope it is sorted out soon.
