Urgh, I'm out of the fashion loop! I used to know this kind of stuff, but I haven't bought any new b/fing clothing in ages. I need a breastfeeding dress for a formal afternoon wedding. I could probably get away with a really plain dress that was elegantly accessorized, so the dress itself need not be formal. Plus it would be great if it were something I could wear again to work later this autumn. Any ideas where to buy, especially online?

I bought this for a christening [up north it's all fancy dresses and suits for a christening] and wore it with heels and good accessories.

It also does well over skinny jeans with boots. Winner.

Hi. I got a fab dress from Mrs Robinson on Lordship Lane.

It's by Ingenue London - it's navy blue with a white bird print (but they do loads of prints - have a look at the Ingenue London website).

Although it's not a breastfeeding dress it was perfect for my sister's wedding when my daughter was seven weeks old and feeding non stop.

The top is low cut and perfect for discreet feeding. The skirt looks quite fifties and full. It was really comfy and I will definitely wear it again. It was ?85 so hardly cheap but worth it as I didn't have to trail up and down Oxford Street trying loads of stuff on! Oh and the best thing is that it's machine washable on thirty degrees.

I can only find a link to the red colourway but you get the idea...

Hope you find something.

I wore this to a gala last night (it also comes in blue) and absolutely loved it. It is a soft jersey material that hangs beautifully and I think I will be able to dress it up or down in the future. Reasonable price too - I have seen some beautiful but crazily expensive options, considering their lifespan is likely to be limited.

Bellenden Belle I have that same dress and love it too - it was great for bf and I still wear it sometimes even though I've stopped as you'd never know there's anything special about it. It's very flattering for bigger boobs & looks cute with a white bolero style cardi.

I bought this one to wear to an event. Is good quality jersey that hangs very well.

It's sold out now but they have similar wrap jersey style dress that could work well for breastfeeding.

Wear with a smart cropped jacket and or scarf for strategic boob coverage.

The only slight issue I have with choosing a plain jersey dress as opposed to a print is that it shows marks eg baby vomit more easily. Which my baby is liable to do!

I was going to post a boden maxi that I wore to my sisters wedding last year but also wear casually as a maxi in the summer. It's suitable for both. Because of the neckline it was perfect for breastfeeding although my daughter had stopped at that point. I checked the boden site and they don't appear to sell it anymore. Although the dress Bellenden Belle has posted is almost identical but shorter. I'd say that's a perfect option and can easily be dressed up or down for any occasion or day out. Good price aswell. Agree you can't even tell its a breastfeeding dress.
tomo I'd forgotten all about that pukey/leaky stage but yes you've reminded me of the time I took 3 month old baby to Caffe Nero in Liverpool Street so husband could show him off to colleagues at lunch time, and he threw up all down the dress about two seconds before they walked in. Which was nice.

These are on sale at the moment and I found them great to dress up or down. Really easy to breastfeed in and I think they are ?25. Good website for breastfeeding t-shirts and shirts. Have a little look if you get the chance.

Oh - and enjoy the wedding!

    • Big recommendation for Stephen Viccary who has created a magnificent bathroom for us. Quality of work is absolutely top notch. We couldn't be happier - see pics.  Stephen is considerate and tidy meaning working from home during the work was fine (some noise - obviously, it is a demo and installation after all. He does not work on multiple jobs, does a full days work and does ALL the work himself - Tiling, plumbing, lighting (including lighting on a motion sensor under the vanity and in the shower niche - for night time visits 😉), he even changed the door architraves, sorted the badly cracked ceiling and did all the paint work. A full end to end service. Stephen's number - 07941 266 145
    • Highly recommend Dulwich Eco Gardening.  When he came to quote Saied said he’d give our garden back so we could decide what we do next.  Under two weeks of hard work from Saied and Mo and we have the garden back and can see paving I’d forgotten about. Not only did Saied remove our very overgrown greenery. Nature had taken over. He also took back to our fence line overgrown ivy, apple and pear trees and and dealt with a neighbours bamboo that had invaded our garden.  We are now going to get quotes for what we do next so those quoting will be able to see the space.  Saied has suggested someone to quote and will be coming back when he does in case he has any questions or they can work together.  I thought Saied would be a good choice and he was. Quotes from others didn’t leave me with confidence for the end result. That was never a concern with Saied.
    • Having a BBQ (fingers crossed) in 2 weeks and need a small BBQ for veggie bits and any spare benches or garden tables and chairs to borrow to add to mine. Any going? Thanks in advance...
