Apparently anyone could go in any shops on NXR and vote but I didn?t even know about it until I stumbled on it by chance online.

Dulwich Park and Peckham Rye Park are both within easy walking distance, though!

And those parks are large enough that the outdoor gym equipment doesn't spoil the appearance of the park.

I Agree. You cannot beat brick.

If the wrong type of paint has been used then there is a real danger that the wall

will become porous resulting in a serious internal damp problem,

The cost to rectify such a problem will be high.

I believe this is what occurred with the 'Bee' Mural next to The Plough

Foxy

Slightly surprised Nx shops and shoppers would vote this in. If it had been some sort of signage it would make a bit more sense. It features really bright primary colours and, I think, it looks dreary in our cold, winter light. I wonder if the shop owners like it?

What amazes me is that many people associate East Dulwich as a 'Posh' area.

In certain 'Posh' Conservation areas people get Fined for painting their street door the 'Wrong' colour.

or fitting the wrong type of windows.

.. and yet here in 'Posh' old East Dulwich anyone can paint 'Garish' murals anywhere they feel fit.

I believe there?s a permanent rain cloud over DF?s head

I agree that it does appear to be a huge advert for the shops on North Cross Road and can?t help but feel that the cost should have been covered from their own (combined) marketing budgets rather than southwark?s limited funding. I understand the mural may act to attract consumers to ED, but then shouldn?t it read ?East Dulwich, colourful businesses??

How big do you imagine the "marketing budget" of tiny local businesses like this is? I haven't seen the mural but regardless of its merits (or lack thereof), this is one of the most curmudgeonly threads on the forum for some time.

    • If no one else has a problem, then it sugggests that the delivery person may not be aware of any harm and would respond well to a conversation. It also goes without saying that just because no one else has a problem, that the OP is not valid in raising their issues.

    • Is anyone else having difficulty booking Silver Swim sessions (Tuesday and Thursday between 3pm-4pm?) Almost all the spaces are taken before the online booking system opens at 10pm several days before. Last night there appeared to be one space available for next Tuesday. I tried to book at one second past 10pm but was unsuccessful. This seems to have been a recent phenomenon. I made a telephone call this morning but just received a recorded message saying that the voicemail box was full. Am I right in assuming that in person bookings are now taking precedence over online ones?
    • I completely agree with you, Angelina. But it's worth noting that no one else has a problem with her, or finds her rude /  has mentioned her aggressively banging gates / ringing doorbells etc.
