Two Suspicious Men Knocking at my Door

I opened the door so they knew someone was in and they were rumbled. I live on a busy road and it was the middle of the day. I escorted them out of my garden.

We?ve just had 2 reasonably well dressed ladies knock our door and ask if we know anyone who speaks Portuguese! When told no they disappeared pretty quickly. We are on Ulverscroft rd. Anyone had anything similar today? Seems really odd!

Yes I had this yesterday on Ulverscroft Road.

Very strange question. It wasn't clear if they were looking for a specific Portuguese person or Portuguese speakers in general.

I suggested they post on here rather than go house to house!

It didn't really occur to me until now that they might have some ulterior motive.

I thought the second person was a child, but I only caught a glimpse of them from the back,so it could have been a quite small adult.

We had these two ladies ringing the bell last year in Camberwell. I guessed at the time they were cold-calling on behalf of some church, probably a Brazil-based cultish one like the Universal Church Of The Kingdom Of God or whatever.
