Individual Fashions - Kensington market

When reminiscing about what I used to like about London when I first moved here, the subject of Kensington Market came up. I used to go to a shop called Individual Fashions which sold lots of punk and other gear.

Did anyone else frequent this shop or remember it? or have other good memories of either Kensington Market or it's posh over the road sibling Hyper Hyper?

Just feeling old and hope someone else remembers these too.

I used to love it too - got my first tattoo there, and my dodgy leather trousers.

It's a PC World now.

Looking on the bright side, these days I have more use for blank DVDs and the occasional ream of printer paper, than for plastic bondage trousers and patchoulia oil.

Yeah, got some pink floyd bootlegs and a really ill-advised purple and green shimmery shirt thing.

God I loved that shirt. I'm actually wincing with acute embarrassment at the thought of it now!!

In the early '80s I used to go there a lot, mostly to visit two friends who ran the record stall there - Chicken Shack. Other friends sold clothes on the first floor. When did it close, anyway?

Arh Hyper Hyper - I remember it with such fond memories, being in my early 20s and feeling in total awe of all the cool designers, and buying exquisite one off pieces of clothing?

I used to get my Dax Wax from kensington and have very fond memories of a changing room experience in Hyper Hyper ....memories............. from the corners of my mind.............. misty alcohol/tamazipan soaked memories of the way we...still are !

Yes me too - I shopped at Hyper Hyper. I'm sure if I went up into my loft I could even find something tucked away up there.
