Hiya all,

Are there any baby and parent cinema screenings on weekends anywhere nearby that anyone knows about? The Mrs and I would quite like to go together with our 4 month old but all the screenings I can find at Greenwich or Brixton or The Electric are during the week.

Thanks,

Anthony

Hi Anthony,

I usually take me little one to Clapham Picture House - they do Saturday screening - have a look at the What's On section - the purple blocks are for parents & kids only :)

The seats are really big, very comfy and they dont fold which makes life much easier, especially when you have a little baby - my daughter often sleeps on that seat or I just sit her up there.

Hope this helps!

Di

Thanks for the replies. The Clapham one looks like it's for parents with children and shows childrens movies rather than parents with babies, where I was rather hoping to watch the Dark Knight or similar! I guess it will have to do though.

Thanks for your suggestions.

    • Yes I do have a vague idea of what's going on in the world, thanks Sephiroth, for explaining it all out to me though. The point I was trying to make, rather badly, because I'm busy and shouldn't be on here, is that I'm sure Jazzer didn't used to be this extreme. Either he's moved into wind-up territory, which people do do on here to keep themselves entertained, or he's just moving further along a spectrum as he gets older, which many people also do.
    • Thank you for responding. I’m Carl Salawa’s little sister. I was nearly 8 when the incident happened. It’s still a very painful and sensitive topic in my family, so I never really asked too many questions growing up, but what I do know is this: Carl had just turned 18 and was on his way home that evening after spending time with his girlfriend and a small group of friends. The police claimed he jumped to his death, but his friends and some residents said he was being chased by police around the estate and that he fell. The toxicology report showed he had no alcohol or drugs in his system. Carl was well loved, an army cadet, and had just enlisted in the Army or Air Force. He had recently gotten engaged to his long-term girlfriend. He truly had everything to live for. Thank you again for remembering and for speaking about it. It really means a lot, especially with so little available publicly.
    • Another recommendation for Roger. He came round promptly to inspect my loft as I was worried I had mice in there. He checked it thoroughly and found no evidence of pests, and refused to take any payment for the trouble of coming out! Thank you Roger!
    • you may not have met them - but you've seen them on the streets protesting outside hostels. You've seen them in the 30% support for Reform. You may not have met them, but they sure do exist
