I'm wearing my Morrissey Christmas jumper. It's gone down less well in the office than anticipated. I feel a vague sense of disappointment.

An ex-colleague from a previous workplace emails me from another division of my organisation (he's obviously just joined), he asks, "are you the same XXXXXXX XXXXXXXX that used to work at xxxxxxx ?".

With a name as unusual as mine I wonder why someone could comprehend the universe, let alone this planet, having more than one person with this darned name.

I email him back, confirming that no, I am not the person he is thinking of.

I'd never met, or heard of, anybody who shared my name. Until in the first year of uni, I was watching a movie with a few of my new pals, and one of the characters was a psychopathic sexual predator with the same name as me. How we (they) laughed.
