Only me!
Yep.As you enter the road from Crawthrew, you have two no entry signs in front of you, so you have to turn right & on each side of the road are clear signs that it is a one way street. There is nothing to hint that a bike may be coming towards you.Is that normal? A one way street in which two way traffic is legal.Seems odd. Applespider
Sure they will get round to putting up signage; they usually do a little after they've painted the cycles on the carriageway. At the very least, they'll put a 'Except cycles' under a no entry sign but they'll often put up a sign that illustrates the contraflow showing the bike coming the other way. It seems to work reasonably well in other streets - aside perhaps from Melford Road where the parked cars on either make it a little bit of a lottery to choose to cycle against the main traffic!Only Me! I believe Sustrans are campaigning for all new one-way layouts to be designed so that they are two-way for cycles. worldwiser
Is this what all the cones and temporary signs that have gone up today around Crawthew Grove/Spurling Road are about? They put a sign on my car today saying 'marking to be installed on 21/3 or we'll move your car'. Thanks for approximately zero days notice whatsoever. ianr
I'll mosey on down there tomorrow to have a look. I hope whatever is being done is handled more efficiently than seemed the case in 2010, when they installed planning notices and road markings for a cycle contraflow in Bellenden Road, only to eventually remove them all. See the second page of the forum thread about it here: http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?20,549542,564166#msg-564166 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/25020-spurling-road-contra-flow-cycle-route/page/2/#findComment-627602 Share on other sites
the-e-dealer
You should indicate when you are about to leave which is obviously a left turn. bluecanary Wrote:-------------------------------------------------------> As a driver and a pedestrian I wish drivers would> use their indicators full stop.
