What is the organiser like at rustling up publicity and such?

It has been a very fickle summer, weather wise. It's a good space. I do hope it takes off, I don't see why it shouldn't. I think the hours are too short, I think that's a problem.

I went to the Wimbledon car boot on Saturday and it was heaving but then that is an established do. That's on from 8am to about 3pm.

I went with a audio dealer. I buy and sell too. I was a bit distracted myself with other matters, but non the less, a good mix of collectables, consumables and general stuff, a good half day out.

Certainly, but why not try East Dulwich car boot first as the cost of transport will knock a hole in your profit.

I'd recommend the boots sale at Hayes Farm - the place seems to be heaving with both customers and sellers - its held every 2 weeks on a Sunday morning (last one on 12/8) ....... its 5 mins in the car beyond the Glades shopping centre in Bromley.

Most of the queries on Hayes Farm boot sale is covered on their website posted above. Not so sure about walk-ins and have only been as a customer, but there always seems to be plenty of business going on.

Hayes Farm is the best boot sale by far, for both seller and buyer (if you can get there). Plenty of space for stalls and plenty of parking space for buyers (which makes it good for selling larger and more expensive items too).

Can't comment on DH now though as I've only been once when it was starting up.

    • Hope all the ‘high streets for people’ events went well! Very short notice probably for people living in the area and on a very hot day!  James McAsh just doesn’t know what to do next with Southwark Council Tax payers money. He advocates the few streets in the area that has a bus service and then shuts the routes down! Very annoying for people who want to go about their daily business and have already had restrictions brought in by McAsh.
    • Thank goodness for Greg. I had an awful situation whereby I was notified that water was leaking from my flat into the flat below me. I was 150 miles away at the time and had a panicked journey home not knowing what I was going to face.   I called Greg (after seeing reviews on the forum) as soon as I arrived home in the evening and he arrived just after 10pm and was able to shut off the problem. He had to come back to finalise the job which turned out to be caused in a communal area whereby there was a blockage in the stack pipe.   Greg worked quickly, efficiently and informed me every step of the way as to what he was doing and why. He also cleaned up really well afterwards.  Greg's charges are very reasonable and he will definitely be my "go-to" if I have any other plumbing issues in the future.
