This has been discussed before.

It's not really commercially viable, but if someone is willing to put the time I too would appreciate it.

I guess it also depends on how much functionality is done via externally accessible APIs.

To be honest there's not much functionality open for external apps, there's an RSS feed but that's about it. However if someone wanted to create one that accessed the database then I'm sure we could assist.

You could use any general purpose "RSS reader" app to read (but not write) posts on a smartphone or tablet.

You'll need to tell it the address/URL of the RSS feed. Click on one of the RSS links on the EDF home page and that will show you the address to use for that forum. You can subscribe to individual forums, or to all of them mixed up together if you use the address of the RSS link right at the bottom of the page.

I'm interested in exploring what's possible, commercial inviability aside! I've already done some work on making this site more readable for myself using the Stylish Chrome plugin. It would be good to offer similar for others.

Perhaps we could have a chat and I can do a couple of quick experiments to see what is possible?
